The event was held from July 1-2 and featured some of the top travel teams in CA. I was able to attend the event on Sunday July 2 in the afternoon and focused on some of the players/teams I have not seen before. Here’s a look at some additional standouts I saw.
1. Skylar Knight – Ventura/SA Swish 805 17U 2024
Knight stood out as a good ball-handler with size. She’s kind of a big guard or forward who is comfortable with the ball in her hands. In the halfcourt, she’s able to get her own shot. She can attack off the dribble or she can stop and knock down the little pull-up. She’s able to shoot consistently from three-point range. Her defense on ball stood out as well with her quickness and ability to keep up with opposing ball-handlers.

Why Not Premier
15U 2027
Yeh stood out as a solid point guard with good handles. She dribbles under control and is able to stay poised against defensive pressure. She’s good in transition, keeping her head up and pushing the pace well. She also stood out on the defensive end. She’s tough and slides her feet well. Keeps the opposing ball-handler in front of her and makes things difficult.
3. Nina Saiki – Portola/
OC Rhythm
Blue 17U National 2025
This was my second time seeing Saiki play this summer. She’s small but she’s an effective point guard. She keeps the ball moving in the halfcourt, very unselfish and always willing to make the extra pass/swing the ball. She looks for the open teammate and is able to get into the lane and kick the ball out. Good in transition, pushing the tempo and able to finish at the basket. Catch and shoot threes.
4.

This was my first time seeing Phaychanpheng play. She stood out to me as a pretty good wing scorer. She can handle the ball and she’s able to attack in the halfcourt. She can shoot from three-point range but her offensive strength lies in her ability to get into the paint and get easy scoring looks. She can get past her defender off the dribble and finishes strong at the basket. Moves well off ball too making cuts to the rim.
