Khalil is prepping for her senior season with the Lady Skyhawks. Samira is off the board and already committed to Elon University after her high school playing days.
Khalil started off her career at River Bluff HS before coming to the Lady Skyhawks for her sophomore season. She averaged 17.6 ppg, 3.6 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.6 assists last year. Samira joined the 1,000 point club last season for the Lady Skyhawks.
Seaberry and the Hurricanes will look to be on top of SCISA Class 4A when February rolls around this season. Yannah and her teammates will look to make a run at Heathwood Hall and Northwood Academy towards the top. Seaberry scraps for everything and generally logs a lot of minutes each game. She started her career off at Palmetto Christian Academy before coming over to the Downtown Charleston First Baptist campus her sophomore season.
Yannah is a shot maker with a knack to score the ball. She runs with a local Grassroots team coached by her father John Harris and Kevin Massey in S.H.O.T.S. United.
This will be Tamya Hutchinson Tamya Hutchinson 5’4″ | PG Hilton Head Christian | 2024 State SC 6th year of varsity basketball come this fall for the Lady Eagles. She started her career at Estill HS (now closed) before coming over to SCISA Class 3A member Hilton Head Christian before her sophomore season.
Hutchinson recently took a visit to Claflin University (SC) – NCAA D2 in Orangeburg. Tamya plays the game great with a side of chaos at times. She likes to play downhill to the basket and create her own scoring opportunities on both sides of the floor.
Tamya enters her senior season with 2,448 career points between the two schools.
Birch is finally back for the Lady Chargers. Alayah has been out for the past year with an injury and just got cleared to play this week. She missed all of her junior year and this past Grassroots season.
Can she get the Lady Chargers back to the finals once again – but this time with a different outcome?
Yarde just wins Championships at Hilton Head Christian. Devon has been part of a lot of state championship teams and winning. Yarde and Tamya Hutchinson Tamya Hutchinson 5’4″ | PG Hilton Head Christian | 2024 State SC form a great backcourt duo for the Lady Eagles in SCISA Class 3A.
Devon has strong very strong academics in the classroom for the Eagles. She plays the game with a pass first mentality and always seems to be around the ball to make a play.
Hyman was a nice addition for the Lady Skyhawks a season ago when she arrived on the SCISA scene. Hyman a left-handed forward started her career off at Dutch Fork HS. Kayce gives the Red, White and Blue an option from inside-out at times on the floor.
She can beat bigger players off the ball with her handles at times or simply go to battle down on the low block. Hyman rebounds the ball well through contact and does a nice job of keeping the rock up high. Kayce averaged 12.8 ppg and 8.6 rebounds last season for the Lady Skyhawks.
Can the Lady Skyhawks make a push at longtime rival Heathwood Hall this season in Class 4?
Scott is just another piece to this talented Lady Eagles team in SCISA Class 3A. She made her presence felt last season after coming in from nearby May River HS. Morgan grabbed her first state title with the Lady Eagles last season. She ran the past few summers on the Grassroots Circuit with Lowco WBB 2024.
Scott is best suited down in the post, but she doesn’t mind showcasing her skills from the elbow at times.
Can the Lady Eagles win a 5th straight SCISA State Championship this year?
Jones had just as good of a summer than anyone else it seemed in my book. She constantly made shots from the perimeter with her play for Lowcountry Premier. Morgan moved to the Palmetto State from Massachusetts after her freshman season. She started off her career at rival Pinewood Prep before getting eligible last season at Northwood Academy.
Morgan is a jump shooter that shows to have good elevation on her shot at times. She likes the rock in crunch times and surely doesn’t mind putting herself out there with the game on the line.
Can the Lady Chargers make that next step this season?
Byrd was nowhere to be found this summer on the Grassroots Circuit when Prep Girls Hoops was in attendance. Virginia will be a big addition to the Lady Chargers roster this coming season with the Birch sisters and Morgan Jones Morgan Jones 5’6″ | SG Northwood Academy | 2024 State SC . Byrd started off her career at Lucy Beckham HS before coming over to the Summerville based Northwood Academy last fall.
Vaughn rounds out the Top 10 from Pinewood Prep. X’Zoria will be relied on to provide scoring and leadership this season for the Lady Panthers. Vaughn a guard will need to handle the rock and make shots all season long for this squad.
