Aliyah Katelyn Carroll (5’10/CG/’24/Team Melo)

I have already put ink on Aliyah in a previous article, and I went into depth regarding what I saw in her game. She is a versatile guard with handles that can play on and off the ball. She is tough off the bounce and lives in the lane creating rotation problems for defenses. She does it all for her squad and is the primary source of scoring production as well as the primary initiator of the offense.
Tayla Thomas (6’2/PF|C/’24/Essence Purple EYBL)

I saw Tayla in the first game I saw when I arrived at the gym, and she set the tone for what I wanted to see from all the post players at the tourney. Unfortunately, my desires were short-lived, but that just speaks of how high Tayla set the bar. Now she wasn’t the primary scoring option for her squad, but she made an impact in every game throughout the weekend. She showed her ability to score inside and out, but her true dominance came in the paint. She is a stout post presence that uses her body well to finish through contact, clog up the paint, and set solid screens. She really showed up in her role and increased her stock.
Jaliya Davis (6’2/F/’25/Missouri Phenom EYBL)

The way that Jaliya performed throughout the weekend could have easily been evidence enough to bump her up, at least to the 2nd all-tourney team. She has good positional size and is very agile when maneuvering in the paint. She really impressed me on the defensive end of the floor out of the gate as she protected the rim, recovered well to the ball when she had to help, and her length caused problems for ball-handlers. Offensively, she finishes well around the rim, gets to a lot of offensive boards that lead to put-backs, and has a game that draws fouls. She is extremely active, which is why she seemed to always be competing for the boards and near loose balls.
Vernell Atamah (6’0/PF/’24/Urban Heros 17U)

I put ink on Vernell in a previous article that I put out, and I went into details regarding her game. She is a physical force on the court with a nice skill set and scoring ability. She was dominant on the glass and impacted the game across the stat sheet. She can score in bunches, and she does it from all levels. She is a player that when her team needs a bucket, she can create it herself or create a situation for a teammate to get it. She is poised to have an excellent senior season.
Hannah Carr (5’6/PG/’24/Hoop Shop 17U National)

I put ink on Hannah in an earlier article, so feel free to check it out for more in-depth thoughts on her game. She is a lead guard that balances facilitating and scoring. I enjoyed watching her compete as she showed a good PG IQ and understanding of how to run the show. She is a talented PG that has handles, set-up capabilities, and passing tools to get her teammates the ball where they can be productive. She is instinctive but very cerebral at the same time.
