Where do I start first? How about with the first game of the day that I watched. Two extremely talented teams going head to head. The game ended in a sudden death double overtime! The TN Lady Grit lost by 2 to ABA ’27! Honestly, you could call all athletes from both sides standouts today. Below are a few evaluations from game 1:
Gabbie Vanacker
Gabbie Vanacker
This was my first time getting to watch the TN Lady Grit , & despite the loss, I was left truly impressed with Gabbie and the entire team! I made a tweet that stated, “This freshman is going to be a name known all over the state! College coaches will be all over this one.” I truly believe that too! She has nice size and length! She has a good touch around the rim and she can step out to shoot! This one is going to be fun to cover through the next few years!
Reagan was explosive on both sides of the court! She is definitely one of the scrappiest defenders. She moves her feet exceptionally well, she keeps active hands, and she is a great on ball defender! Sheridan is a ball savvy athlete that knows when to take over a game. She is a true game changer & she was able to show that in the early morning game! Reagan was scoring from all 3 levels! Keep your eyes on this freshman & this team!
Highlights
Preslee kept driving and getting to the rim the entire game. Chapman is at her best when she is attacking strong downhill. She is great at finishing the old-fashioned 3 point play! She is extremely physical and plays tough as nails for the entirety of a game! I love the heart that this one plays with!
Highlights
Harper Ladd
Harper Ladd
Where did Harper Ladd come from, & why have I never touched base on her before? My apologies to Harper for not finding her sooner! Ladd flirted with a double-double during this game. She is a young, talented freshman with great size! She has a nice outside shot! She drilled numerous three pointers that never touched the rim. She has great hands with a soft touch inside! This freshman class in TN is loaded, & add Harper right there with the mix!!

Layla was exceptional in a tough battle win over the TN Lady Grit . Berry is an athlete that does all of the little things right. I don’t scout in the state of Alabama, but this one was too good not to mention! In the beginning, when her team was down, she did a lot of things great offensively and defensively to keep her team in it. She has a nice outside shot. Berry is also great at attacking the rim. If I am in AL, I am keeping a close eye on this one!
A few other athletes that I watched today with their respected programs:
Heath is one of my favorite athletes to watch work in the paint! She works hard every single possession. Does anyone in the entire state rim run better than Chloe? She gets numerous baskets at the rim because she runs the floor exceptionally well. She’s a great inside/out player and she can stretch the floor better than most her size! Heath has a consistent 3 point shot! Make note of how exceptional Chloe is on the defensive end in the paint too! Whoever lands this one at the next level is getting a great one!
Marley Spiers Marley Spiers 6’3″ | C Clarksville Christian | 2027 TN is a ’27 that we will see on TV. Grab your popcorn and enjoy the journey! Insider Exposure tweeted, “Spiers has unlimited potential – legit size, length, and athleticism.” Who could disagree? No one! Yes, Lauren Hassell Lauren Hassell 6’2″ | PF Clarksville Christian | 2027 TN is a power 5 lock, and Marley is too, in my opinion! Every school in the nation should know Marley’s name!
Stay tuned for the rest of my notes from Day 1!
