Niyah Waters (5’11/SF/’25/Hoop Shop 16U National)

Niyah is a wing who has a lot of tools in the toolbox. She is an impactful player who largely contributes on both ends of the floor. She is a lengthy disruptor on defense. She rebounded at a high rate and got her squad quickly out in transition. She really pushes the rock in the open court and shows off her playmaking skills when leading the break. Niyah scores the rock at all levels and balances scoring and facilitating as she has to provide both for her team. She has good vision and can make the necessary passes to get the rock to her teammates where they can be successful.
Crystal Aragon (5’3/PG/’25/Competitive Edge)

I put ink on Crystal following #BasketballOnThe Bayou23, so feel free to take a look at the article where I dove deep into my thoughts regarding Crystal. She really had a sensational tournament, and I was highly impressed with her PG IQ and floor general skillset. She is the player who made everything go for her squad, and despite her 5’3 size, she really understands how to orchestrate an offense. She functions as a triple-threat player who contributes as a shooter, passer, and driver, and she does all three at a high level.
Elli Porter (5’7/SG/’25/Missouri Phenom 16U EYBL)

When it comes to Elli, she would have been in my Sniper School article had I done one for this tournament, and I still might as I am looking through my notes. Elli can flat-out shoot the rock from deep, as she had four threes in the first half and finished the game, making a total of six. She is lethal from beyond the arc, and with her ability to shoot the trey ball, I am sure she can find a place at the next level.
Nyla McFadden (6’0/W/’25/Essence Silver)
Nyla is a highly athletic wing who showed a lot of versatility with her play on the defensive end of the floor. She defends out in space and shows that she can handle her own as an interior post defender. She constantly challenged ball-handlers who were looking to get to the cup. Her ability to alter shot attempts made it difficult for offensive players to get clean looks at the goal. Offensively, Nyla has great burst to the cup and got to the rim often with her speed as her major asset. She was highly active on the glass, as she rebounded at a high rate.
Casey Chavez (5’7/PG/’27/SA Hoops Elite Gold ES)

Casey, at the time of the tourney, was preparing for her freshman year of high school while putting her talent on display, playing two age divisions up. Not once while I was watching her compete did it look like she did not belong on the court. Truthfully, her skillset and IQ were more advanced than many of the older girls she was competing with and against. She is a pass-first PG who plays at a pace that benefits her team. She is very good at making accurate kickout passes and creative post-entry feeds. She can settle the offense as much as energize it. She is going to a PG that will garner a lot of attention in the coming years.
