Orlando was filled with talent in the back half of July, we take a look at some of the top guards in the class of 2026 that performed well.
Dakeria Brown (TNBA Orlando Pink 2026) 5’5 Guard – Class of 2026
Brown was the team’s best player, playing with a high energy level and explosiveness on the offensive end. She is quick, plays with active hands-on defense and never stops moving. She consistently wants to push the tempo and play in transition. Her energy and activity level are infectious amongst her teammates.
Evelyn Freeman Evelyn Freeman 5'8" | PG Bolles | 2026 State FL (Blue Heat National 2026 E40) 5’5 Guard – Class of 2026
Freeman was the team’s best player in the multiple games I saw Blue Heat National. She can play both guard spots and has a quick first step, using her explosiveness to get by her defender and into the paint. Freeman also likes to push the tempo and plays unselfish in the open court. She does a good job giving the ball up freely advancing it up the court to open players. She sees the floor well and leads her teammates to the rim for easy baskets often.
Madison Perez Madison Perez 5'8" | SG Timber Creek | 2026 State FL ( FGB ‘ last=”]’ last=”] Elite 15U) 5’8 Guard – Class of 2026
Perez was very aggressive attacking the rim in transition and from the wing in the half court. She reminded me a younger version of FGB ‘ last=”]’ last=”] alum Taliah Scott, as she is long, athletic and aggressive on the offensive end. She was FGB ‘ last=”]’ last=”] Elite 15U leading scorer in multiple games scoring from 3, mid-range, and at the rim.
Alyssa Marino ( FGB ‘ last=”]’ last=”] Elite 15U) 5’5 Guard – Class of 2026
Marino is the ultimate point guard that played very well for FGB ‘ last=”]’ last=”] Elite in Orlando. She was the teams main point guard, pushing it in tempo and creating easy shots for her teammates in both the half court and in transition. Not just a distributor, Marino shot the ball well from 3, knocking down multiple 3s in every game I saw her including 4 in the first half at The National Championship.
Zaria Weaver (Tre Mann Elite Bradley 2026) 5’8 Guard – Class of 2026
Weaver has a very strong build for a young prospect. Her build is compact and solid with a strong wide lower base and broad shoulders. She uses her strength and body on the defensive end to body up to defenders and keep them out of the paint. She is a willing and capable on ball defender who can pick up opposing teams point guards and turn them in the backcourt with full court pressure. Offensively, Weaver gets into the paint off the dribble and finishes well at the rim.
