They say that guards are a dime a dozen but size is always a high commodity. In this world of supply and demand here are the top post players that we saw over the weekend.
Maggie had good size inside, she was listed at 5’10” but looked more like 6’1′. She moved the ball well in transition and had an interesting way to finish using her inside hand. Her finishing style allowed her finish contested shots as defenders were not expecting the release from that hand or angle. She had good timing on blocking shots without fouling.

Amaya seemed to be the post on Team 6 by necessity. She handled the inside well out rebounding everyone in the paint. She was relentless on the offensive glass and made virtually every shot in the paint. She was clearly one of the top players in the gym and she has the ability to play at multiple positions.
At 6’1″ Olivia was listed as the tallest player in the gym. I was concerned as she missed an uncontested shot by the basket. Turns out it was just too easy for her, she started reeling of some nice buckets consisting of hooks over the shoulder, drop steps and spin moves all with defenders trying to stop her. She showed a good touch and good footwork in the paint.
Mila was another player in that 5’10” range that was able to do well inside. She cleaned up misses and finished nicely around the basket. Team 6 was able to control the inside when they had her and Ramey in together which happened quite a bit. She also had a nice form from the perimeter that she showed off a bit in game action.

Caroline Faist
Caroline Faist
Caroline was able to run the floor, catch and finish in one motion. Attending Paul VI this will be valuable as it fits in well with their system. The Panthers like for everyone to be a perimeter threat so I can also see her stretching the floor as well. She has a good touch on her shot as I was able to see in shoot arounds and can play with her back to the basket or face up.
