[player_tooltip player_id='456516' first='Alisabeth' last='Barton']., 5'4", PG, Colby, 2025 - A year ago at this very event Barton grabbed by attention with a great backcourt pick of Riley County's terrific guard C. J. Rignell when Rignell crossed over and accelerated. She went on to show off her quick hands, speed with the ball, and creativity off the bounce. She also showed finishing ability in the lane and a solid three point shot. I will be looking to see if her release flow has sped up and if her already good floor vision and leadership have grown.

[player_tooltip player_id='344788' first='Rylee' last='Dick'], 5'5", CG, Rossville, 2026 - Once again the Bulldogs could not fight their way past rival Silver Lake to reach the 3A state tournament. Dick is a significant piece of an experienced roster gunning for another shot in 2024. My PGH Kansas colleague Adrian Maloney wrote in late August last year that she "can flat out shoot" and has a "next shot" mentality. A high motor player, she can score well off paint drives and gets after it defensively as well. I look forward to getting a long look at her game.

[player_tooltip player_id='721314' first='Ka'Mya' last='Gantt'], 5'6", PG, Wichita Heights, 2026 - This will be the first time I will see Gantt play. From video I have reviewed she showed good speed and corner to wing three point ability. With the log jam the Falcons have of 6-8 guards battling for playing time, much less starting, this upcoming season I anticipate seeing her using the stage to show where she may fit in that puzzle.

[player_tooltip player_id='751920' first='Avery' last='Mauck'], 5'6", PG, Hoxie, 2026 - The Indian and [program_tooltip program_id='713096' first='Western' last='Kansas Elite'] guard played in 23 games last season and will be looking to power the team past the first round of the 2A state tournament in 2024. On a deep team playing in the brutal Mid-Continent League Mauck averaged 4.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.7 assists. I am looking forward to seeing her mix it up with the expected strong field of ball handlers and seeing improvement in her perimeter and free throw shooting percentages.

Lakyn Huncovsky, 5'9", CG, Manhattan, 2026 - The [program_tooltip program_id='712615' first='Lady' last='Prospects'] guard will be looking to show where she might fit in the mix for the Indians following the graduation of a couple long-time starters. Playing JV/C-Team ball last season she showed quick hands working in backcourt defense and finishing ability versus challengers. I am looking forward to seeing her game.

[player_tooltip player_id='649349' first='Katherine' last='Weiss'], 5'7", CG, Sacred Heart, 2024 - I enjoyed a long look at Weiss and her Thunderbolts club teammates at the MAYB Hall of Fame Showcase April 1 & 2. Like the rest of her teammates Weiss defended well, played fast, and unselfishly. Some things that stood out where range with her three ball, quickness working inside out of the half court offense, and how strong she goes to the hole. A walking three point play, Weiss has picked up offers from Newman University and Hastings College.
