I thoroughly enjoy watching Ava Vogler Ava Vogler 5'7" | PG Sun Prairie East | 2027 WI operate with the basketball in her hands. The future Sun Prairie East guard does an excellent job creating space with the ball in her hands and does a solid job at reading the game. Her decision-making will make her one of the most trustworthy guards in the Madison area right away, and she’ll be stepping into a situation where she can make mistakes and grow from them. I’m excited about what she can become in the Big 8 over the next four years.
Olivia LaBlanc
LaBlanc fits perfectly into what the Raiders have going on up in Hudson. The newcomer is a 5’11 wing/forward hybrid who reads the game well, makes reads with the ball off short rolls, and has excellent footwork around the rim. She’s physically ready for the BRC and will fit nicely into the style of basketball they play, which is more physical and centered around scoring in the paint. Her game is polished.
Melanie Morgan Melanie Morgan 5'7" | SG Grafton | 2027 WI
I saw Morgan make a few shots, but I knew she could shoot. What excited me most about her game was how well she stayed engaged away from the ball. Even though the ball didn’t get to her as much as it probably should’ve, Morgan was constantly moving on the backside of the play, and even though she didn’t get rewarded in that setting, that’ll change in a more structured system at Grafton. I’m excited to see how well she can get rolling in an off-ball role at Grafton, with some experienced seniors who finally got to Sectionals last season. You don’t find youngsters who understand the value of off-ball movement like Morgan does.
In my opinion, Alic was the most impressive player at the event from start to finish. Her athleticism jumped off the page, even among other excellent athletes at the event. She flew all over the floor on the defensive end and blocked shots from everywhere. You’d never think she’s 5-10 watching her play because she plays much taller than her listed height. Her effort and athleticism set her apart. Alic could be a part of the next wave of premier players in the FVA if things go her way at Oshkosh North.
