Translating everything to games, when you have defenses looking to stop you, crowds yelling and playing at game speed is what separates the great shooters from everyone else. She was able to consistently knock down game shots in rhythm. She was enough of a threat that the opposing team’s coach would yell out “shooter” whenever she touched the ball.

We hear the saying that, you never know who is watching. I watched Divyanna shooting the ball about 25 minutes before the start of the Freshman Showcase and saw her knock down shot after shot after shot. I saw one stretch of around nine made three pointers in a row. When she missed it looked like it was going in and then the streak started again. If she translates the accuracy into game time she will be one of the best shooters in the DMV.
Sabrina was not only one of the best overall players of the day, she was also one of the best shooters. She made shots from deep off the catch and dribble. She was able to create space to get off her own shot and had a nice release.
Hailey gets good spacing of of her first step and gets into her shot with a quick release. When open she has a good set shot but her pull-up jumper is text book perfect and effective anywhere on the floor.

Watching player warm up for about 45 minutes shooting threes and working on their trick shots, it was refreshing to see Makayla form shooting from 3 to 10 feet out. Working on fundamentals is the most important thing a player can do and see her resist the temptation to start jacking threes is a sign that this is who I want taking the shots in a game for me.
