There hasn’t been an update for this class in over 2 years and that is going to cause a lot of changes in this process. Usually with senior classes in high school, at this point I would have 150-200 kids listed, who have competed over their past 4 years on the court. In this specific update we will have right around a total of 175, with the Top 50 being ranked.
Somethings I would like everyone to understand when reading these rankings:
- With having no ranking changes in over 2 years, there is a lot that has happened. Some players found other passions, some committed to colleges for other athletics, some grew in the game of basketball and absolutely dominate it right now, it doesn’t matter why but what does matter is that the Ranking the player may have had prior to this update, should be ignored if their new ranking is being seen as a negative, from their point of view. It’s an opinion and opinions change every day.
- If you aren’t ranked in the Top 50, don’t worry about your position rank. When a player is WL, their position rank does not truly reflect their positional ranking in my eyes. That number is just how the system sees the players being added in the past.
- If a player isn’t ranked or listed, that you think should be, there is a good change that I simply did not see that individual compete or see them put up big numbers on the high school floor these past few seasons. It happens. There is another Rankings Update coming out in December, just shoot me a message and let me know about the player, we can go from there.
- I am one person and I am human. I really refuse to rank anyone if I can’t see them play. Wether it be in person OR on film. So I would advise everyone to film their children’s contests because it matters to get noticed in the long run and not just by me but by college recruiters as well.
- Only the Top 50 are ranked because that is all I am comfortable ranking at this time. It would have been unfair to others if I just randomly put individuals in a spot without knowing their true ability. To know that ability, I need to see the player compete several times, not just on a highlight mixtape, once.
Below in this article I will be highlighting our players that ranked #6-10 in the 2024 class from the state of Nebraska. Each player is already college committed or has a plethora of offers waiting for them to choose from at the end of the day. Each player is also someone that I think will go out onto the college floor and make a difference right from the jump.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Chloe Hanel Chloe Hanel 5’11” | CG Clarkson/Leigh | 2024 State NE has some skill, some length, puts up big numbers, works hard when she is up 20 or down 20, has a high motor that can’t be taught and those are the reasons that Hanel starts this restructuring of the 2024 class at #6. When Hanel is on the floor, she is a difference maker. Someone that others teams need to game plan for each contest or else she is going to have a game to remember. I’m not sure of the exact offers that Hanel currently holds but she is a college level player. She has the smarts, the aggressive edge, and skill to put it all together at a high rate. Now she just needs to keep working and that’ll all shine through this winter at Clarkson/Leigh High School.
Something that happens quite often around the state of Iowa is other players from midwest states, coming to Des Moines to play for the All Iowa Attack EYBL program. A player who did this out of Nebraska was Peyton McCabe Peyton McCabe 5’4″ | PG Skutt Catholic | 2024 State NE . McCabe is a small but quick thinking point guard. Her best ability is facilitating others or letting it go off the catch from deep in the blink of an eye. When I say that McCabe has a quick release, I mean one of the quickest I’ve seen this year across the country. She is always ready to let it fly and it doesn’t matter from how far away, it always has a chance of going through the net. After high school McCabe will join Drake University to continue her college career. With how her play-style works, I could see her having a really nice few years for the Bulldogs but we will have to wait and see.
When I had the chance to see Nyaluak Dak Nyaluak Dak 6’2″ | C Lincoln Southeast | 2024 State NE compete this spring my first impression was that she has A LOT of raw talent and I still think that is still the case. Dak stands at around 6’1-2 and is good with her balance and size near the post. She understands to catch with her back to the basket and roll over her shoulder, with the option to score with either hand. Naturally she has the build and mind to become a very good player but it still needs to click a little bit more for my liking. If she can be put in successful positions this winter, I’m expecting some big numbers from Dak. She is too tall and athletic to be kept in check in my opinion.
Highlights
Kennadi Williams Kennadi Williams 5’7″ | PG Lincoln Southwest | 2024 State NE is going to be a duel sport athlete at the University of Nebraska to start off her college career. Williams will play basketball and softball for the Corn Huskers following her senior year of high school at Lincoln Southwest. Williams is a small but shifty point guard on the basketball court. Obviously, you can tell that she is naturally athletic and born competitor. She works hard to be the best she can be, at the craft she is working on during that present season. Usually what happens when players go into college as duel sport athletes is after a year or two, they pick the sport they are really excelling at. Will that be the case here? If so, what sport will Williams choose? All questions I do not have the answers too but what I do know is, whatever sport Williams sticks with, she is going to kill it. When she is dedicated with a goal in mind there is nothing that can stop her but herself in the long run.
