Skutt Catholic High School, out of the Omaha area, has started off their season with a perfect 9-0 record and in convincing fashion might I add. The SkyHawks have even been so good as to travel to Arizona for a Holiday tournament, where they ended up taking home the Championship with a perfect record. One of the reasons for this teams success right now is due to the play of one of their star Guards, Peyton McCabe Peyton McCabe 5'4" | PG Skutt Catholic | 2024 State NE . McCabe is a Drake commit and an impressive talent. The best way to describe McCabe’s game would be quick. She understands that she isn’t the tallest on the floor and because of that, she has to get her shot off a little quicker then most, with a little bit more space around her. The reason that I mention this is because McCabe can do several things at a high level in this sport but her best ability is letting it go from deep. Her ability to shoot and make plays from distance is next-level. There is no other way to put it. This past few years for the Skyhawks, McCabe has been a beast. She is truly going to be missed by this program once she graduates but until then, they have some unfinished business to take care of over the next couple of weeks.

Something that happens quite often around the state of Iowa is other players from midwest states, coming to Des Moines to play for the All Iowa Attack EYBL program. A player who did this out of Nebraska was Peyton McCabe Peyton McCabe 5'4" | PG Skutt Catholic | 2024 State NE . McCabe is a small but quick thinking point guard. Her best ability is facilitating others or letting it go off the catch from deep in the blink of an eye. When I say that McCabe has a quick release, I mean one of the quickest I’ve seen this year across the country. She is always ready to let it fly and it doesn’t matter from how far away, it always has a chance of going through the net. After high school McCabe will join Drake University to continue her college career. With how her play-style works, I could see her having a really nice few years for the Bulldogs but we will have to wait and see.

Peyton McCabe will be joining Grace Knutson Grace Knutson 5'10" | SG Cedar Falls | 2024 State IA at Drake University, following their senior season this next year. McCabe is a quick guard, with an even quicker shooting stroke when she is on the floor. She can get hot from deep in a hurry and is really solid with her on ball defense. She understands to a T her ability on the floor and uses angles to her advantage, every moment she gets. I think that McCabe and Knutson could be a nice duo for each other in college. They both can really light it up from deep, while possessing nice lay up packages. They will definitely be fun to watch in the years to come on the college floor together.

Peyton McCabe Peyton McCabe 5'4" | PG Skutt Catholic | 2024 State NE is committed to play at the University of Drake once her high school basketball career comes to a close. A great pickup for Drake it seems as McCabe is currently killing it for her All Iowa Attack EYBL team. McCabe is a knock down three point shooter in all catch-and-shoot situations. Each time she shoots she has a balanced stance, a strong follow-thru, and exquisite footwork. She has several other abilities along with this though such as handling the ball as the point guard, creating off of the dribble, and rebounding better than most her size. This spring she is going to continue to kill it and show Drake that she can come in right away and produce.
