- There is some catching up to do. At each update I try to add 25 players per class. At this point, I would have 100 players listed already going into the school year so that’s just what I did. There are 100 players listed that either put up big numbers in high school last season or showed some impressive gameplay over this past AAU campaign.
- I have only ranked the Top 15 players until our next update in December. I am confident that these 15 players are all individuals who could play basketball at the next level, no questions asked. The biggest determining factor being how they expand their games and physically grow over the next few high school seasons.
- In the Top 15 that I have listed for this class, there were a handful of situations where a player could have been a spot above or a spot below of where they were placed. I could truly justify either position to you in the end.
(In General)
Some small things on how understand the rankings:
- The position that the player is labeled at currently is where they are seen as a college prospect, at THIS moment in time. That is subject to change as time goes on and players evolve.
- Each player will have a “position rank” associated with their name in this first update, please understand two things about that ranking. 1 – Only the Top 15 players positional ranking is accurate. The others on the WL are just how players were mentioned in the PGH system in the past. 2 – Those are subject to change over-time as a player COULD end up changing their position for any given reason as they get older. (Growth spurt, Skill-set evolves, Ect.)
Some small things to please remember from an outside perspective:
- Just because a players name is not added on this list, does not mean they aren’t a good player. It simply means I haven’t seen them compete YET or consider them as a CURRENT player who will see significant varsity minutes as a sophomore this winter at their high school.
- With younger classes, there can be some major movements as to where a player is from update to update. It’s crucial to understand that when a player moves down in the rankings, it’s usually not because they played bad or haven’t been doing well. It’s because more players are being added to the rankings and those players skill-set maybe evolving to a higher level as they get older.
- A Players Ranking is an opinion. Nothing more, nothing less. My advice is that you can use it to motivate you or you should move on. There is no reason to feel hurt or slighted as it is never personal. It’s just a different point of view. Remember, opinions change.
In the article below I will be unveiling our 2026 – #11-15 Players list. This #11-15 list was determined by a few factors such as a players “feel” for the game, their body of work last high school/AAU season, their natural athleticism & skill-set, their motor, and much more. Every player that I will list here is a college level competitor, who could one day play for a successful D1 program once their high school careers come to an end.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
A’yanna Hill A’yanna Hill 5’7″ | SG Omaha North | 2026 State NE is a player that will be right around the Top 10 to start the year, with a really good chance to crack that list before the end of this high school season this winter. Hill is a smooth and shifty guard. A player that moves really well on and off the ball, but excels when she catches it on the perimeter. She has a fast and effortless dribble when she comes down the court with the ability to score or distribute at a high rate. Like most athletes at this age level, Hill is going to have a chance this season to make her case for being one of the better shooting guards throughout Nebraska. If she demonstrates her abilities on both sides of the floor and continues to put up big numbers, she is going to be feeling pretty good next update come December.
The upside and future potential of Mylee Tichota Mylee Tichota 5’10” | PG Yutan | 2026 State NE are high when you account for her being a fast moving, 5’10 guard. Tichota was another player that put up some big time numbers last year on her way to successful overall season with her Yutan high school team. She displayed a plethora of skill moves on the offensive side of the floor while being a pesty defender on the defensive side of things at the same time. Accounting for size and skill level, where Mylee could take her game is truly up to her in the end. She showed me enough last year to believe that she is already a college level guard. If she can expand her game while being a little more efficient in some categories, the sky is the limit.
Macey Kuchta Macey Kuchta 5’9″ | SG Millard South | 2026 State NE comes in at our #13 spot in this Rankings Update and for good reason. Kuchta is putting together her game more and more as the days go by. She is a 5’9 guard that is slowly growing into her game and this past AAU season, she has made big strides on the court. Kutcha is one of those players that will do it all for her team. A little bit of this, a little bit of that, but most importantly – no matter what her team needs from her, she will step up and take charge without question. I need to see more of Kuchta’s game over this next few months but for now, Kuchta has shown me enough to be confident with her in this spot.
If you are looking for a player that can flat out shoot the basketabll, look no further then Taryn French Taryn French 5’8″ | SG Gretna East | 2026 State NE . French is a guard that can do several things on the floor but her best ability, hands down, is shooting the ball from deep. On offensive, she is a willing passer and a constant distributor but she is easily a Top 3 – form shooter out of this 2026 class. Doesn’t matter how close or how far, French’s shot always looks the same and always has a chance to go in. You can tell this just from her past AAU season, when her team ran several sets to get her open for a three point attempt. I want to see French’s game grow a little more over the next season or two but as for shooting the ball from deep, French is an absolute sniper that is going to score a bunch of buckets in high school because of it. Probably college too.
Highlights
Zaria Townsend Zaria Townsend 5’7″ | SF Omaha Buena Vista | 2026 State NE is going to round off our Top 15 Player Rankings update. Townsend is an interesting prospect for me, that has been tough to put my finger on over these past few weeks. She stands at a good size at 5’11 with length on most around her. She rebounded and scored at a high rate last season, there is not a question about that but I’m not ready to call her a Top 10 player out of this class just yet. She possesses a ton of positives on the floor and is the soul of her high school team but I need to see how she would fair against higher level competition to be able to better evaluate her abilities. There is a lot of raw talent there and that is going to be able to help her dominate who she is against right now but when push comes to shove and she is against a bigger, more skilled player, how does she adapt? That’s something I need to see more of this winter and I plan to.
