is going to round off our Top 15 Player Rankings update. Townsend is an interesting prospect for me, that has been tough to put my finger on over these past few weeks. She stands at a good size at 5’11 with length on most around her. She rebounded and scored at a high rate last season, there is not a question about that but I’m not ready to call her a Top 10 player out of this class just yet. She possesses a ton of positives on the floor and is the soul of her high school team but I need to see how she would fair against higher level competition to be able to better evaluate her abilities. There is a lot of raw talent there and that is going to be able to help her dominate who she is against right now but when push comes to shove and she is against a bigger, more skilled player, how does she adapt? That’s something I need to see more of this winter and I plan to.

is going to have a real chance to play college basketball. Townsend is a 5’8 guard, who produces night-in and night-out for her teams. There were several games this past high school season where Townsend was the most dominate player on the floor, between both teams. With Townsend only being a player out of the 2026 class, it makes sense that she isn’t hearing from too many college right now but don’t worry, it’s coming. Her ability to score, while being an elite rebounder at her size, is a combination that could definitely help someone at the next level. She just needs to keep working hard, putting up some even numbers across the board, and stay positive. That’s when it’ll all work out.

was a player that jumped off the scene for her freshman year at Buena Vista High school. Townsend, is a 5’10 combo guard that is versatile on the floor. She can spread the court with her ability to put the ball on the floor and distribute to open teammates, she can work the mid-post off of the catch, and she is especially solid with her back to the basket. Not to mention, when it comes to rebounding she is easily one of the best throughout the state of Nebraska. Her size, coordination, and strength give her a clear advantage and she uses it really well. Last season Townsend averaged 11.7 PPG & 11.4 RPG. Im expecting more of the same this summer for Townsend, leading into the high school season this winter.

had a game this season where she had 19 points and 20 rebounds. One of the best state line i’ve seen across three states from this past high school year. Townsend is an athletic forward who displays a ton of skill. She scores the ball at a high and consistent rate while always playing unselfishly. She also rebounds the ball consistently throughout a ball game and has some great vision down the floor when running in transition. There is a lot of promise here. A player with a high motor, great size, and a nice head on her shoulders when it comes to breaking down the game of basketball. She has three more years of high school and in those years I’m excited to see her grow into possibly top rated prospect in the state, maybe even the country.
