There is something brewing in the area code 37075. It's more than that Starbuck's or Lasater's coffee. I'm talking about the Lady Buccaneers of Beech who are primed and ready to take off. Over the summer, the Lady Bucs had a good showing in June, where they got stronger and worked on their strengths and weaknesses. They played a tough summer schedule, filled with more highs than lows. What they got from their June camp was confidence, which will surely be on display this upcoming season.

The Lady Bucs finished last year 20-12. Playing in a tough region, the girls ran up against a tough Green Hill team. Redemption, here these girls in orange and blue come. This summer, the girls got in the gym, got to work, and handled their business. The team spent the offseason both hooping collectively, but also playing for solid travel ball programs in national competitions. Coach Elkins hopes that the experience these girls gained on the road competing against top notch talent, transfers into quality results back in school ball.

The Lady Bucs this year will be one of the stronger veteran teams in their district. Featuring both size and speed, look for this team to get after it on both ends of the floor. They have a nice inside out presence on the offensive end, but defense will be key for them as they look to stack wins and make some noise this year.

Here are some Lady Bucs you need to keep your eye on.

[player_tooltip player_id='290985' first='Carson' last='Sisk'] (6'0/Sr./G)- Carson had a great offseason where they challenged herself to get better. She's a 3 level scoring threat that can play inside or on the perimeter. She's solid with the ball in her hands, stepping up when her number is called upon. Her length is one of her greatest assets. She's active with her hands and causes mismatches. Look for her to be the leading catalyst for this Lady Bucs group. From rebounding to scoring buckets, Carson's name will always be up at the top in these categories.

Genesis Harris (5'5/Sr./G)- The transfer kid from Fairview is a nice asset to the Lady Bucs team. She steps into the role as the prime facilitator to their lethal attack. She's a lefty who can get downhill to the rim or knock down shots on the perimeter. She's battle tested and is always looking for a challenge. Being the newcomer to the district, look for her to get after it as she goes toe to toe with some pretty good opponents. County on GiGi to be the glue that helps the Lady Bucs push the issue and force teams into turnovers.

[player_tooltip player_id='496300' first='Bailey' last='Ford'] (5'8/ Sr./ G)- Tremendous athleticism, Bailey is a bucket when the ball is in her hands. She can shoot it from deep, but getting to the rim and 15ft shots is her game. Has a knack for being in the right place at the right time. Whether it be on defense or offense, her ability to end up with the ball is crazy good. She had a great offseason and did phenomenal on the travel ball circuit. Look for her to continue to get better and grow as the season rolls along.

[player_tooltip player_id='625400' first='Kabria' last='Revels'] (5'9/Sr./G)- The quiet assassin of the group, she is the lockdown defender. She works on and does the little things right. From rebounding, to scoring, to making timely passes, her ability to make the right play is crazy. She is an example of a selfless player, who sacrifices her opportunities for the betterment of the team. She can score it from all 3 levels, but she's going to go out and execute what her coaches want. The scouting report on her will vary game by game due to any role she can play. One thing you will definitely see, she's going to get after it on the defensive end no matter who the opponent is.
Lily Dunn (5'10/Jr./G)- Solid role player that uses her height and speed to her advantage. She can knock shots down from the perimeter consistently, but also contributes on the defensive end, where she has a knack for anticipating passes. Creating turnovers is something she did this summer in travel ball, leading to easy buckets for her club. I expect her to pick up where she left off and be an asset to this Lady Bucs attack. This girl can finish around the rim, but her break and butter is from the 3pt line.
