With the first NCAA Live Period right around the corner, you better believe Tennessee girls are chomping at the bit to showcase their talent in front of collegiate coaches. Kids will be trying to increase their stock as they play at various locations across the country. Milwaukee, Phoenix, Louisville, ect, multiple cities will be playing host to our young ladies as they get ready to compete and show all coaches from different levels what their game is all about.

As you all know, the NCAA Live Periods are very important to serious hoopers. The opportunity to get in front of collegiate coaches can help one obtain a collegiate scholarship. We don't know what a program needs or wants; however, if they see something they like, let the process begin as they look to enhance their program. There are so many roster spots available at the next level. With the transfer portal and thousands of kids across the country playing this sport, taking advantage of a moment like this is very important. If I had the opportunity to give a prospect any advice, I would say the following:

“ Be the best version of you. Play within yourself. Do what you do well and do it to the best of your ability. Talk. Hustle. Leave everything you have on the floor.”

What kids need to understand is this. Coaches want to see you compete at both your best and worst moments. They can and will find a scorer. Shoot, they probably have plenty on their roster now. However, they are looking for someone to come in and fill the gap in an area that they need. Backup PG. Rebounder. Solid Defender. Starter. Ect. Who knows what they need? You just have to go out there and control what you can control.

I am excited that the travel ball season has kicked off. Even more excited that the NCAA Live Period is right around the corner. There will be a buzz in the area over the next few weeks. Hopefully, we will see tons of Tennessee girls get looks from collegiate coaches at the next level.

Here are a few girls who I expect to have standout performances during the first viewing period.

Talented guard has been gaining P4 attraction from various schools. It will be fun to see what other schools offer her. This kid is tough and can score from anywhere on the floor. What I love about her game is her shiftiness to get to her favorable spots and her ability to just command the team. She's a big-time hooper who is fearless when it comes to the competition. Talented kid whose stock shot up this past year. Look for her to continue on this upwards trajectory.

This aggressive hooper is just a problem on the floor. Versatile in so many ways, she can lock down on the defensive end and score the rock from all 3 levels. Her size and speed pose a threat to opponents. She can attack from the arc, knock down the mid-range, and be physical in the paint. Ultimately, her ability to score and defend at a high level separates her from most. It will be interesting to see which schools will be looking at her this upcoming season. Solid prospect who will be turning heads.

Talented guard who can play on or off the ball. I love her ability to create off the dribble and either shoot the 3-ball efficiently or get to the rim to finish. She contributes in many areas on the floor, using her speed as an asset. Rebounds, steals, deflections. She is just an all-around player who brings it every time she steps onto the floor. It will be interesting to see who is interested in her. She's coming off a fantastic regular season, during which she had a dominant performance. This kid is one to keep an eye on, as her stock is on the uptick.

It will be interesting to see what other schools jump on board with this prospect. A true floor general, she can run an offense efficiently as well as score the basketball. She is a heady ballplayer who makes the right reads. She utilizes her speed to exploit defenses, has tight handles, and is just hard to contain with her ability to counter whatever teams throw at her. She is solid on both ends of the floor, but I will say teams will love how she commands the offense. Look for her to do big things this upcoming travel ball season.
