Even though the 2029 class is just getting started on this basketball journey through the high school ranks, you better believe their will and skill ability will propel them to accomplish great feats along the way. It is evident in how they play the game and in how they approach it. An intangible I have seen in some of these young ladies is how they process and think about the game of basketball. There are many kids in this class with athletic ability, but seeing many of them at an early stage in their careers process the game in such a way is pretty impressive.   Now, don't get me wrong, I am not saying there is a perfect prospect out there. I am merely stating that this class will have many quality ballplayers who will see the court early and often, based on their own merit. Girls who will put in the work, excel at their skill, and contribute significantly are within the particular class. Their growth is yet to be determined, but they do have the mental makeup and fortitude to accomplish a lot in their career.   Here are a few young ladies who are ready to make some noise on the high school basketball scene. They got a taste of what competition is like this past season, and now they are ready for more.    A true competitor who can anticipate with the best of them. She reads things well and acts upon them quickly. Being in a helpside position, she can bait someone into thinking someone is open, and boom, she grabs the ball in mid-air and is off to the races. This is just a small example of how she thinks and processes during a basketball game. She is a 3-level scoring threat that can get to the rim or spot up on the perimeter. She can handle the ball, playing with poise and positioning herself to make the right play. Still not a finished product, this kid has a high ceiling and will continue to get better. A solid piece to the MJ ballclub.     An aggressive ballplayer who is solid on both ends of the floor. Nice with the ball in her hands, she is able to stop on a dime and counter into a move that will open up the possibility of a shot attempt. From step backs to getting downhill to the rim, her ability to open up her hips and go is good. She has range to her game, a nice mid-range jumper, and she can put it in the hoop consistently. Add in her defensive ability, and expect her to get many looks from coaches at the next level.     Solid post player who can play with her back to the basket. Long and rangy, she has a nice mid-range game to go along with her ability to be effective around the blocks. She can stretch the floor, but being effective in the painted area is what she does best. Solid rebounder and shot blocker; look for her to be someone coaches consider based on her size and ability. A solid prospect with good upside.     Physical guard who can play inside and out. An aggressive downhill threat, she maneuvers through a defense with precision. She has a nice jumper in her arsenal, showing range and a mid-range game. She is solid defensively, creating turnovers that lead to easy buckets. This kid is a gamer, a tough competitor, someone who gives it her all no matter what. Look for her to be a solid prospect who will be an asset for a program at the next level.     Athletic dual sport athlete who is going to be a problem. Speed, quickness, strong, she is a ballplayer who can get to favorable spots with ease. Electric and enthusiastic, her team feeds off her energy as she knocks down shots from multiple areas of the floor. She is a gamer, one who competes on both ends. Doesn't matter how tight the game is; she steps up and does her part. From knocking down shots to defensive stops, this kid is going to be a prospect who will continue to help elevate the USJ program.
