The Brookfield East guard may be the best tough-shot maker in the state. There may not be anyone in the state who can score in isolation at the level of Kovacic. I’ve seen her score the ball in ways that almost make no sense. She made a name for herself at the state tournament, where she hit some big shots down the stretch of the state semifinal game, and all through the season in games against Waupun and Germantown, among others, where she was a significant part of the Spartan offense. She has big things in her future.
Rachael Chilicki Rachael Chilicki 6'3" | C Mukwonago | 2026 State WI
The Mukwonago post emerged as the most promising forward prospect in the state this past summer. Chilicki showed plenty of touch around the rim and a willingness to improve. She seems like a coachable kid who responded well to coaching last summer and applied some things from timeouts in games after the timeout. You can’t teach her size and skill around the basket, and she’s shown a willingness to step out and knock down some perimeter jumpers when she’s left alone. It will be intriguing to follow her throughout this season.
Ady Ketterhagen Ady Ketterhagen 5'9" | PG Oostburg | 2026 State WI
The Ketterhagen family has plenty of talent, and Ady is no different. I thought she was the most dynamic lead guard in the state last season and was the barometer of Oostburg whenever I saw them play. Whenever Ady was at her best, the Dutch offense was borderline unstoppable. She’s physical, fast, shoots at a high level, passes through small windows, has poise, and has the respect of everyone around her. As far as lead guards go, Ketterhagen is among the best in the state.
Presly Samz Presly Samz 5'7" | PG Arrowhead | 2026 State WI
The younger Samz sister isn’t as physical as Bella and may not be the fastest kid around, but wherever she goes, she wins games, and that’s not debatable. She probably has the highest basketball IQ of anyone in her class, reads the game at an elite level, doesn’t turn the ball over, and makes things happen with the ball in her hands. Samz finds ways to get the rim and can finish through traffic. I also love how well she passes the ball. She’s the kind of kid who passes people open. Samz is a winner, and I don’t see that changing when she takes that jump to the next level.
Libby Gilmore Libby Gilmore 5'9" | SG Arrowhead | 2026 State WI
I liked Gilmore’s game throughout last season, but I fell in love with her game this summer. Natalie Kussow Natalie Kussow 5'10" | SG Arrowhead | 2026 State WI and Giselle Janowski Giselle Janowski 5'9" | SG Pewaukee | 2026 State WI got pulled up to 17U, which led to Gilmore inheriting a more prominent offensive role. I thought she looked awesome scoring the ball from behind the three-point line and at the rim and emerged as a focal point on the offensive end. On the other end, I always knew Gilmore could defend the heck out of the ball and continued to do so this summer. The physicality she brings is a real problem for her defensive assignment. Gilmore could defend 18-year-olds a year ago and only looks more physical now. I can’t say enough about how impressive she was this past AAU season.
