With 12 teams filled with Indiana preps in the classes of 2024-2026, there were plenty of strong players and standouts. With that said, this article will focus on two young ladies I felt stood out from each team (Teams #7, #8, & #9) when I was able to see them.
.
Team-7:
Kaycie Warfel
Kaycie

Pendleton Heights | 2025
State

, 2025, 5-8 G, Pendleton Heights H.S.
– Kaycie showed off as much speed and explosiveness as anyone at the event. She is extremely long and wiry, “track fast”, and she was all over the floor making plays. She uses her length and quickness well to create deflections/steals defensively, and she can flip ends of the floor and finish in transition with the best of them. Her handle continues to improve, and she is shooting it much more consistently from the perimeter.
Team-7:
Ava Wheeler

Borden | 2026

, 2026, 5-11 F, Borden H.S.
– A year ago, at the PGH Freshman Showcase, Ava flashed great potential. It’s starting to come around full circle, as Sunday she showed an improved skillset, more strength, and a lot of versatility. Ava is handling the ball much better in traffic and against pressure, as she can make plays for others in transition. She has the size and strength to battle inside, but she also has touch outside, and she can defend wings or forwards.
Team-8:
Layla Williams

Fort Wayne Wayne | 2025
State
IN
, 2025, 6-2 C, Fort Wayne Wayne H.S.
– The amount of improvement Layla has shown in the last 9-12 months has been impressive. She has good size, some strength, and great length. She has North/South athleticism and some bounce as well. At the 250, she was extremely active, she blocked shots and pursued rebounds defensively, plus she got a couple of steals. Offensively, she still needs a go-to move, but she finished through contact and even knocked down a 3-pointer.
Team-8:
Aubri Ingram

Ben Davis | 2026
IN
, 2026, 5-8 G/W, Ben Davis H.S.
– This was my first opportunity to see Aubri in action, and I was very intrigued by her play. She has somewhat of an unorthodox shooting stroke, but she ripped off three or four long jumpers in a row in the game I saw. She has nice length, wiry strength, quickness, plus the ability to turn the corner and get downhill quickly. She is someone who has a better than good chance of being added to the 2026 list during our December updates.
Team-9: Paige Traxler, 2025, 5-5 PG, Eastside H.S.
– Paige is one of those kids who I’ve had her name for some time, but this was my first opportunity to see her in action. She has a fairly strong frame at her height, deceptive length, plus she plays with speed and quickness. She is an assertive but heady point guard, and she can make plays in transition or run the team in the half-court. She also displayed a quiet toughness, the ability to take contact, and she buried open shots.
Team-9:
Alyx Kendall

Bishop Chatard | 2026
IN
, 2026, 6-0 F, Bishop Chatard H.S.
– Alyx is a very active and versatile forward. She has a wiry-strong frame, she has gotten stronger, and she can impact a game in a variety of ways. Offensively, she has some touch facing the basket, but she’s also very crafty around the rim and can finish at odd angles and through contact. As she gets stronger, she should continue finishing better. Defensively, she can battle inside, and she rebounds the ball extremely well.
