Stand-Out Players From Kansas and Oklahoma!

To all high school women’s basketball players, you never know who’s watching! I live in the suburbs of Columbus, Ohio, and came across McPherson Women’s basketball. Their name immediately caught my attention because my maiden name is McPherson! I am all about giving shout-outs to players from not only Ohio, but from anywhere, including Kansas and Oklahoma! Here are few young ladies to keep your eyes on this upcoming season!

Hannah Cooley Hannah Cooley 5'5" | PG Olathe West | 2024 State KS : PG, 2024, Olathe West H.S (KS): Hannah has got game! I love her uptempo game, her court vision, and ability to push the ball for easy transition buckets! Beautiful passer! She knows exactly when and where to pass the ball- this shows the trust and confidence she has in her teammates. Fantastic hesitation moves, can shoot the rock from deep. And defensively she takes care of business- will pick pockets all day every day!

Azura Clark Azura Clark 5'9" | SF Lawrence | 2024 KS : F, 2024, Lawrence H.S. (KS): Clark is a tough assignment for opponents. She does damage both inside the paint and from outside! Solid moves to the bucket with authority, not afraid to go 1v1 against anyone. Nice outside shot and mechanics. Knows how to get to the charity stripe and connect. Love how she can comfortably go either left or right consistently to the bucket. She can score in many ways. Great job protecting the paint- she’s a strong wall inside!

Alex McGarrah Alex McGarrah 5'8" | CG Owasso | 2024 State OK : G, 2024, Owasso H.S. (OK): McGarrah has an ever lasting battery that goes hard all game on both ends of the court! She stretches the floor with her outside shooting and quick trigger. Great attack mode, creates high level of execution with her passing and setting up her teammates for buckets. Alex orchestrates the offense so well! Takes great care of the ball, and has a high basketball IQ. (Featured Photo)

Liese Johnson: F, 2024 McLoud H.S. (OK): This lefty has got skills! Light feet, blasts past defenders, takes care of the basketball, and uses the glass so well when going anywhere near the basket. Love her bursts of speed and hesitation moves that free her for open looks! She’s feisty on D! Active hands, anticipates passes, and aggressive!

Lexi Cooley Lexi Cooley 5'5" | PG Olathe West | 2026 State KS : PG/SG, 2026, Olathe West H.S.: QUICK! I really like her defense! Strong help side, knows how to irritate opponents, making them uncomfortable dribbling around her. She makes things click both offensively and defensively for the team- opponents need to play with caution around her! Finds the open seams and attacks! Strong overall game!
