In the article below, I have highlighted four players that have demonstrated superior skill-set’s in some facet of the game. These skill-set’s are each players own, special ability on the court, that help them and their team become successful.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy.
Bailey Boeve Bailey Boeve 6’0″ | PF Hinton | 2026 State IA is a standout Volleyball player and ranked #1 in her 2026 Class throughout the state of Iowa, according to PrepDig Iowa. Boeve used her athleticism to dominate her competition on the basketball court at a high rate as a Freshman last year and is aiming to do the same thing this time around for her Sophomore season at Hinton High School. Boeve stands at around 6’0 with physicality and a high motor on both sides of the floor. Most of the time, Boeve’s competition just can’t keep up with her endurance throughout a contest and in the end, it leads to huge stat line by the Forward. To no fault of her own, Boeve falls into the issue of playing weak competition at times during her regular high school season. There is nothing she can do about that but to keep on working hard and continue to put up big numbers in the meantime. As for recruiting, I have a hunch that Boeve will be a college volleyball player in her future but until that is set in stone, college teams should take some time to notice her game. It’s more than respectable.
One of the most well-rounded PF/Centers in this 2026 Class is Aubrey Kroymann Aubrey Kroymann 6’0″ | C Maquoketa | 2026 State IA of Maquoketa. Kroymann has size, speed, and smarts for her position. She does an efficient job of understanding the opponent in front of her and she is never rushed when receiving the ball with her back to the basket in the post. I would say that Kroymann’s game is more centered inside the paint. She does display the ability to step out and hit a jump-shot from time to time but in general, I would want her posting up on every possession if I were her coach. She is efficient in her offensive movements and a good passer to open teammates, if their defender tries to reach down and dig into where she is trying to maneuver. All in all, Kroymann is a college level player at the end of the day. To which college & at which division? I’m not exactly sure yet but she is in a good place moving forward right now from an outside perspective.
Highlights
Jordyn Crosman Jordyn Crosman 5’4″ | CG Ogden | 2026 State IA stood out this past 6 months throughout AAU ball and different style showcases around the Midwest because of her ability on the offensive end on the floor. Crosman is a smaller PG with a quick trigger and an act for being in the right place, at the right time. On most occasions, Crosman displays that she is the most skilled player with the ball in her hands on court. She has an above average handle that can create off of the dribble, she can step back and knock down a three off of her own dribble move or off of a catch, and she can defend her position against alike size players. Not to mention, that mentally it just seems like Crosman is on a different level than everyone else around her. For her age, she has it “put together”, a little bit more than most and that comes from her dedication/experience. Ogden High School is looking to put together a winter to remember behind the play of Crosman this winter, something that is more than do-able but we will need to see it, to believe it.
Isabelle Kremer Isabelle Kremer 6’2″ | C Pleasant Valley | 2026 State IA is going to have the job of stepping up this winter to replace some of the varsity players that their roster losses due to graduation, after coming off of a State Championship last season. Kremer stands at 6’2 with coordination and patience. She is going to be a big time player for her Pleasant Valley team this winter in many ways but the most important? Defensively. Kremer is the type of player that can stick with smaller guards or she can wall up against opponents that might be alike to herself in size. She is disciplined to the point that she stays down on most shot attempts, making the offensive player shoot a tough shot over her contested hand, usually resulting in a miss and rebound for herself. Overall, Kremer could emerge as a top post throughout the state of Iowa before this season comes to an end but it’s going to take some things to fall into place, starting with her continued dedication to this sport we call basketball.
