The 2027 watch list offers a quick way for fans to get an idea of some of the top players to watch for in every classification. Here is a look at players hitting the hardwoods from class 5A.

[player_tooltip player_id='771622' first='Morgan' last='Armbruster'], 5'9", SG, Hays - Armbruster is a lengthy guard with good size and transition speed. On the perimeter she will gather herself to shoot and hit the three with jump shooting ability.

[player_tooltip player_id='690344' first='Maliyah' last='Bell'], 6'0", PF, Arkansas City - Kansas scout Jeremy Deckard caught what he called a "powerhouse" at the PGH Dynasty Regional Finals in July. Deckard liked her ball skills, strength in the post, size and speed. Bell makes an up and coming Bulldog squad that much more dangerous.

[player_tooltip player_id='779205' first='Laila' last='Boylan'], 5'11", PG, St. Thomas Aquinas - The transfer from Denver, Colorado, Boylan is a slick, slim, long ball handler who changes geers well in transition. She has strong court vision and passing ability to feed teammates. Boylan's solid feet disrupts the rhythm of basket attackers and is a solid shot blocker.

[player_tooltip player_id='779210' first='Sophia' last='Calovich'], 5'9" PF, St. Thomas Aquinas - Calovich was named to the 16U Battle in the Sunflower all-tournament second team this past July. I write about numerous players with tremendous skills of all sorts. It is far less common to find players with strong game feel on both ends of the floor and players who are 'sit down' defenders. She moves well in space and is very much a "glue" player teams need.

[player_tooltip player_id='779212' first='Addison' last='Davee'], 6'3", C, Maize South - Davee showed consistent improvement over the course of the summer. Gaining in confidence and finishing ability around the basket Davee has some small forward in her game. She hustles for loose balls, keeps her feet to challenge shots, and has solid 10' range. On a deep, athletic, and fast Eagles team this season she will only improve in physicality and fluidness competing with the experienced and talented bigs she will be practicing with.

[player_tooltip player_id='779216' first='KK' last='Emmot'], 5'7", SG, Shawnee Heights - Emmot is a lengthy, heady ball handler who can slice through defenders to finish in the lane with athleticism. She has a little shoulder shimmy to her game that helps get her a step. Emmot also shoots the three with range. With the graduation of Denver Pioneer Emari Doby, Emmot has a terrific opportunity impact the success of the Thunderbirds this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='779231' first='Reese' last='Wilborn'], 5'5", SG, Andover Central - Wilborn has a mature game that should enable her to impact the Jaguars this season. With solid handles and abilities to move into space Wilborn has quickness and speed to play at the top of full court pressure and score off the floater in the lane. The younger sister of Wyoming Cowgirl Bailey Wilborn, she also is a consistent perimeter threat who will adapt nicely to the speed and quality of play in the Arkansas Valley Chisholm Trail division II league.
