In our state of Iowa, this is already our second update, giving us a total of 50 players ranked as “WL” until our December Update. For all intents and purposes, I could have anyone listed in this class as a “New Addition” or “Stock Riser”, because no one has played on the high school floor yet this season but I tried to choose players that were recently added in this specific Update.
The five players that I have highlighted below this are all individuals who should have the chance to see the varsity floor as a freshman, at their perspective high school. Each player I have seen compete over the past few months and they all were some of the most dominate individuals on the court while I was in attendance.
(Please ignore the “Position Rank” # next to the athletes name on the right side, under the word “state”. That is incorrect & not done by myself, that is the systems way of remember players as they have been mentioned in the past. Thank you for the understanding!)
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Molli Rosloniec Molli Rosloniec 5’11” | PF Saint Albert | 2027 IA is someone that I think is going to make a big impression this winter at Saint Albert’s. Rosloniec is 5’11, with lengthy arms and good reach with her size. She moves down the floor at a high speed, while being creative with the ball in her hands on the offensive side of the floor. I had a chance to see Molli recently and she displayed that she was well rounded as a player in most facets of the game. I think moving forward she has a solid base that she can build on over the next few seasons. She just has to put her head down and stay dedicated to her craft.

I had the chance to see Macie Vetter Macie Vetter 5’7″ | PG Lewis Central | 2027 IA compete once this Spring & once this Summer. In each contest Vetter was making good plays at the Point Guard position for her team. There wasn’t many situations when I thought that Vetter was out there over her head this AAU season. In most situations, she was a player that the coaches could trust with the ball in her hands, in the biggest moments of a contest and that says everything you need to know about her game. I think Vetter could make a positive impact at Lewis Central as soon as this season. She will need to come in, limit her turnovers, and create for the others around her at a consistent rate but if she can do that, she should see the varsity floor this winter.

Loralai Gilmore Loralai Gilmore 6’1″ | C Dowling Catholic | 2027 IA comes into her Freshman year as one of the tallest players throughout the 2027 Class, in the state of Iowa. Gilmore is 6’1 and understands her height to a T. On defense she is very good at staying down and making her opponent take a tough shot over her long reach. When it comes to offense, she does a good job of keeping her body between the basketball and her opponent, usually leading to an easy bucket for herself in the paint. In a program that is going to have a shot at a state title this year in Dowling Catholic, there is going to be a good amount of learning taking place for Gilmore this winter. If she can understand concepts quickly and show progress early on in the season, she is going to be someone to know over the next four years here in Iowa.

Martensdale-St. Mary’s is going to have an experienced roster this season with some talented skill players from all age levels. One of those players that will be coming in as a Freshman is Rylie Fugate Rylie Fugate 5’6″ | CG Martensdale-St. Marys | 2027 IA . Now in all honesty, I need to see Fugate play more and I plan too but from everything I have seen up to this point, she is someone that has some skill. Her size isn’t overwhelming at 5’6 but she shows glimpses of good moments on both sides of the floor throughout a contest. She has an above average handle, nice shooting stroke off of the catch, a high motor at the guard position, and a nice rebounding ability over guards that are alike to herself in size. All in all, this stuff could create a really good player overtime. Just like everyone else at this age, her progression over the next few years will be vital but at this point, she is in a good position moving forward.
