Continue ReadingThe Prep Girls Hoops network at the National level has come up with a few different topics for articles to reach a National audience, so I wanted to expand upon that in this article and do something on a state-wide level. Below are five prospects who come from small towns that should have major impacts on their team’s season in 2023-2024. This obviously isn’t every small-town kid, but five who quickly stood out to us. I encourage you to find these towns on a map…

, 2024, 5-8 G, Carroll H.S. (Flora, Indiana)
– Alli is one of the top guards in the 2024 class, and she has already given a verbal commitment to Western Michigan University. She is a long, fluid, skilled guard who can handle the ball and initiate offense, but she is just so much more effective off the ball as a shooter/scorer. She can bury shots as deep as 27-feet consistently, if given any space. She has a veteran savvy to her, and she works hard, plus she has started to play with more physicality over the last year or so.

, 2024, 6-1 F, Jennings County H.S. (North Vernon, Indiana)
– Juliann continues to develop her skillset, and it has paid wonders for her recruiting. By adding a perimeter game to her repertoire, she picked up a great deal of high-major D1 interest this Summer, before committing to Michigan State University. She is still strong, physical, and a force around the basket, plus she’s one of the state’s better rebounders. But now she can put it on the floor productively, knock down the perimeter jumper consistently, and defend multiple positions.

, 2025, 6-1 F/C, Westville H.S. (Westville, Indiana)
– “Andi” really helped herself over the Spring & Summer by playing competitive grassroots basketball. She has some size, wiry strength, and really nice length. She doesn’t mind physicality at all and plays a little stronger than she looks, but she also has the ability to play facing the basket in the mid-post. She should have a nice Winter for Westville, and if she continues to stretch her game to the perimeter by next Spring & Summer, it will only help her recruiting.

, 2026, 6-3 F, Silver Creek H.S. (Sellersburg, Indiana)
– I don’t think it’s a surprise Brooklynn has gotten to this point based on genetics, but in the last 12-18 months she has grown about four inches, gotten a little stronger, and gone from being more of a back-to-the-basket forward to a face-up kid who can knock down an open 3-pointer, put it on the floor and get somewhere, but also dominate the mid-post. She is incredibly long, bouncy, and fluid, and she does a really nice job as a versatile perimeter defender.

Loogootee | 2027
State

, 2027, 6-2 F, Loogootee H.S. (Loogootee, Indiana)
– There are a few Freshmen around the state with size, and Alaina has a chance to separate herself from most of them because of her versatility, skill, and athleticism. She is extremely long and fluid, but she does possess some strength as well. She can score the ball at the rim by posting up, but she’s much more comfortable at 15-feet shooting over defenders or attacking off the bounce. She will need to continue getting stronger and playing lower, but her upside is tremendous.
