Here, I take a look at more of the standouts from this event.
Aaliyah Chacon PG 5’3 2025 Sequoia Pathfinder
Chacon is a solid guard who displays good play making skills. She showed a good feel for the game and was able to finish with either hand when she got into the lane.
Azalee Alvarado-Tellez Azalee Alvarado-Tellez 5'7" | CG Canyon View | 2026 State AZ Canyon View
Azalee is a good ball handling guard who displayed the ability to put the ball on the floor to make plays for others. She can shoot with range and when she gets hot, she can go on long streaks.
Ylena Gross Ylena Gross 5'6" | PG Sunnyside | 2027 State AZ Sunnyside
Gross showed that she had no problem playing with her older teammates. She has a nice handle for a lead guard and showed a burst in the open court to get by her opponent. She should be one of the better freshmen in SOAZ.
Leila O’Dowd Leila O’Dowd 5'11" | C Rincon/University | 2027 State AZ Rincon/University
O’Dowd is another freshman who came to put in work. She has a nice frame and knows how to use it. She rebounded very well in and out of her area. She didn’t shoot a lot but when she did, she showed a nice touch out to 15 feet.
Nevaeh Urenda Nevaeh Urenda 5'5" | PG Flowing Wells | 2025 State AZ Flowing Wells (Featured Image)
Urenda is a nice active guard who likes to play physical. She played downhill very aggressively and showed flashes of her passing ability. She always has her head up looking to advance the ball or make a pass to an open teammate.
