Continue ReadingPrep Girls Hoops has officially updated its 2024 Class rankings and there was quite a bit of movement in the top five, with a new #1 leading the pack. Ranking players is never an easy task, with a lot of hard work going into what we feel is a precisely accurate list. These five prospects are the cream of the crop when it comes to the Senior Class, with some of them even acquiring a national ranking through ESPN! Since our last update in October 2022, these ladies have put in countless hours of work behind the scenes and have sharpened their skills, putting their talents on full display in their junior year and throughout the summer.
1. Mikayla Blakes Mikayla Blakes 5'8" | SG Rutgers Prep | 2024 State NJ | 5’8″ SG | Rutgers Prep
We have a new number one ladies and gentlemen! Mikayla has moved up one spot and claimed the overall #1 ranking in the Class of 2024. Also nationally ranked as the #10 player by ESPN, the uncommitted senior announced her top seven schools over the summer: Rutgers, Stanford, Tennessee, UCLA, Indiana, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin. She eclipsed her 1,000th career point as a junior and went on to score 660 points for the season, with a staggering 225 of those points coming from 3-point territory! She also crossed career marks of 300 rebounds, 200 assists and 200 steals while leading her team to a 25-5 overall record, undefeated conference record and Non-Public B State Final appearance in her junior campaign. One of the summer’s biggest stock risers, Mikayla was one of EYBL’s leading scorers all aau season long. Named to the Prime Event East First Team, Orlando National Championship All-Tournament Team and SLAM MVP at Rucker Park, her stock continued to rise with every passing event. Flashy, fundamentally sound and highly efficient, this superstar enters her senior season with all eyes on her!
2. Kiyomi McMiller Kiyomi McMiller 5'8" | PG Life Center Academy | 2024 State NJ | 5’8″ PG | Life Center Academy
“The Product” had a monumental 2023. Over the winter she signed a historic NIL deal with Jordan Brand, becoming the first high school athlete to sign with the multi-billion dollar company. Arguably one of the flashiest players in the country, Kiyomi gave girls buckets from just about everywhere. Her creativity on the court coupled with her sharp basketball acumen and electric guard play catapulted her to the top of everyone’s “must see” list this summer. Playing for BBA Elite, the phenom danced with the ball and dazzled large crowds on the aau circuit. I don’t think there was a single game where she scored under 20 points all summer long, playing against teams on the Nike & HGSL circuits. Scoring it at a high clip is nothing new to Kiyomi as she averaged just under 30 points per contest in her junior year with the Lady Warriors, competing against some of the nation’s best teams: 35 points against Westtown in December, 33 against DME Academy in January, 42 against Riverdale Baptist in February, etc. Recently, the unsigned senior (and #22 ranked player in the country by ESPN) announced her top 7 colleges: Ole Miss, Rutgers, UCF, Penn State, Florida State, Temple, James Madison.
3. Devyn Quigley Devyn Quigley 5'10" | SG Manchester Township | 2024 State NJ | 5’10” SG | Manchester Township
One of the nation’s leading scorers a season ago, Devyn put on a master class in putting the ball through the hoop and moves into our top 3 for the Class of 2024. Logging 977 points (34.9 ppg), she showed her legitimacy as a three-level scorer. It’s easy to be mesmerized by her offensive firepower that you may overlook just how stellar she is defensively! At nearly 4 steals per game, she proved tough as nails and downright suffocating on defense. She eclipsed her 1,000th career point during the WOBM Christmas Classic on December 29th and went on to cross career marks of 600 rebounds and 100 3-pointers made before her junior campaign came to a close. Her tenacious two-way game carried over to the summer as she lit up the EYBL circuit playing for Exodus NYC and earned an invite to the exclusive Wootten Top 150 Camp in Las Vegas. She earned offers from Texas A&M, Rutgers, Wisconsin and other P5 schools, before committing to NC State and Coach Wes Moore. The 4-star recruit enters her senior year as the #47 ranked player in the nation by ESPN.
4. Te’Yala Delfosse Te’Yala Delfosse 6'2" | SF Ewing | 2024 State NJ | 6’2″ SF | Ewing
The Michigan commit is the biggest riser in our top ten, jumping four spots from #8 to #4. A powerful and versatile wing, Te’Yala wreaked havoc across the Garden State last year and led the Blue Devils of Ewing to a Group 3 State Title, where she also scored her 1,000th career point. Her extreme grit and tenacity on both sides of the ball saw her rack up 251 rebounds, 62 blocks and be one of NJ’s leaders in steal with 122 swiped. She can pound it inside, attack from the wing and comfortably bury the long ball, making an impressive 43 of them in her junior campaign. In March, she was named to NJ Advance Media’s All-Group 3 First Team. This summer playing for Team Sharp , Te’Yala was flat-out phenomenal! She was a standout at the Prime Event East in June and went on to lead her team to a Platinum Bracket Championship in Louisville at Run 4 Roses in July. She went on to be named to the Elite 40 Run 4 Roses Championships All-Tournament Team (Class of 2024) and claim MVP status. A truly position-less player and walking double-double, “TeyRock,” as she is affectionately called, is poised for a monster senior year as Ewing looks to repeat as State Champs and earn their first-ever national ranking.
5. Faith Fedd-Robinson Faith Fedd-Robinson 5'11" | SF Newark Central | 2024 State NJ | 5’11” SF | Newark Central
Faith came out the gates swinging in her junior year. She tallied 563 points (and crossed the 1,000 career point mark), pulled down 365 rebounds, dished 120 assists, swatted 134 shots and swiped 125 steals in 28 games played. In March, she was named to NJ Advance Media’s All-Group 2 Second Team. The do-it-all stud continued her dominant play into the summer with Team Sharp , playing alongside top 5 prospect Te’Yala Delfosse Te’Yala Delfosse 6'2" | SF Ewing | 2024 State NJ . At Run 4 Roses, she put her entire skill-set on full display in front of thousands, lighting it up from just about everywhere on the floor and causing match-up nightmares for defenders far and wide. She picked up offers from DePaul, Hofstra, LaSalle, Richmond, Manhattan, Rhode Island, Rider, Sacred Heart, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Stetson, Stony Brook and Temple before announcing her commitment to Monmouth. Whew! 138 rebounds removed from 1,000 for her career, expect Faith to put up big numbers on the glass and eclipse the major milestone halfway through her senior season and achieve the rare 1,000 point/1,000 rebound feat.
