This league is pretty talented top to bottom as Badin was a regional finalist last season, and Alter advanced to the regional semis. Both teams have plenty of top stars returning, but Carroll will contend by bringing back some talented sophomores and Chaminade Julienne also has some very good younger players.
5 Players to Watch
The Central Michigan recruit is ready to cap off an outstanding career with a big season. The long and lengthy wing is a matchup problem with her wingspan as she can use that for a defensive edge. Good perimeter game, deep range. Also showed some good footwork this summer when I saw her. Definitely a great one-two punch with Maddie Moody, another D1 recruit.
I believe she is the best pure athlete in the conference and one of the best in Ohio. Not only is she an outstanding soccer player, but her skill level on the basketball court is at an elite level. Great floor general, plays with a very high motor and is always around the ball. Great handles and a solid defensive presence. Love the way she can take over a game.
She blossomed onto the scene last season as a freshman as she showed she was ready to play in this tough conference as a rookie. Kiera uses her height well on the block, can rebound and outlet. Also not afraid to take the three. Defensively, she created mistakes and had 12 double-doubles last season.
She is definitely no secret to the PGH staff as she has played the last couple of years on the Circuit with the Dayton Vipers. Brooke can do it all for CJ, is very athletic and has effective moves around the rim. Good footwork and moves well without the ball. Excellent rebounder and can score in a variety of ways. Watch for potentially a big year!
As a sophomore last year, Mia put up some quality numbers, scoring 12 points per game with a handful of rebounds. Her percentages were also not bad, over 40 from the field and 70 from the line. She has a knack of finishing plays at the rim, good body control and able to get to where she needs to be to score. Plays under control with good handles and loves to play the game fast. A junior to watch this season!
