The PGH Nebraska Top 250-Expo brought together 45+ athletes from all over the state of Nebraska, to come compete all under one roof and show what they can really do on the court in-front of myself and potential college recruiters. This event was packed with talent. There was everything from high-level college point guard prospects, to dominate forwards that were spreading the floor and knocking down deep threes at an impressive rate after they handled their mismatches inside the paint.

Below I am going to highlight five players from this event that will make up the NE Top 250-Expo First Team. Each of the players selected are ones that will have the chance to play at some college level one day, after their high school careers come to an end. Which level you may ask? That is on a person-by-person basis but I do believe whatever college these athletes would play at, if it's the correct fit for them, they would produce at a consistently high rate.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
<!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["766565"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='766565' first='Myleigh' last='Weers'] was the best player at the PGH Nebraska Top 250-Expo this past weekend. Weers is a point guard that can produce for her team in multiple ways. She is the type of player who can come down the floor and score at all three levels by herself or she can create for others around her at a consistent and efficient rate. When she attacks her defender, she is calculated. She has the ability to drive going either way and can score with either hand at the basket. There were several occasions on Sunday when Weers came down the floor in transition and got an AND1-bucket at the rim because of her body control, touch on the basketball, and finishing ability through contact. Defensively, I would venture to say Weers is just as good at defense, as she is offense. She displays active hands each possession and does great job of talking to the teammates around her about what is going on. All in all, I was very impressed by Weers. Looking forward, I can confidently say that she would be a productive college Point Guard at the D2 level for someone out there in the near future but we will just have to wait and see. Lewis is a decent sized guard, who can really do it all on the floor. She isn't a natural point guard but can bring up the ball with an above average handle, she isn't a natural shooting guard but can she shoot it from all three levels efficiently, and she isn't a natural post but she likes to post up and score over smaller defenders on a consistent basis throughout a contest. Lewis was one of the most well-rounded players at this event from a skills, smarts, and athleticism stand-point. She was someone that the coach could put in at a number of different positions, every other possession, and she would still produce in whatever she was trying to accomplish. Lewis was one of the first players I saw compete on Sunday, she stood out in that contest and throughout the rest of the day. I'm hoping she can ride this momentum into her high school season moving forward!","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["276517"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='276517' first='Rylee' last='McLucas'] has all the intangibles and skill to play at the college level when her high school career comes to an end. On Sunday at this event, McLucas showed glimpses of being extremely dominate. She has natural athleticism and length that helps her in several occasions out on the floor. Wether it being scoring over a smaller defender or getting a block on a bigger post player, she maybe guarding in that moment. There were several occasions when McLucas would step back for a three one possession and knock it down, following by coming down the floor for an easy post up the very next possession. This was a great way of showing off her versatility to anyone watching. This is another player that has a bright future on the court if she can tighten some things up over the next two years. She has all the resources in her corner, now she just has to work on the correct things and keep on grinding. Something that I'm sure is already happening behind closed doors. ","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["777584"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"Someone that I did not know much about prior to this event was [player_tooltip player_id='777584' first='Kennedy' last='Johnson']. Johnson is a forward that works in the post to secure rebounds/score some easy baskets for her team and that's exactly what she did on Sunday. Johnson was one of the most impressive Forwards that I saw competing on the day. She has athleticism, size, physicality, a high motor near the rim, and a positive attitude no matter the situation. If there was ever a bad call on the floor, Johnson would politely give the ball to the ref and get back on defense. Showing a lot of character in those moments. Johnson is going to be a player that I'll see again this year for high school ball. From what I witnessed on Sunday, there is no reason she can't put together a year to remember this winter. Thomas is a center that is physically dominate down-low. She understands her body size and physicality compared to others, usually giving her a big advantage next to the basket and that was no different on Sunday. The only issue was, most players weren't throwing her the ball. There were several times when Thomas would post for 3-4 seconds. over a MUCH smaller player, and no one could get her the ball. When she finally did catch the ball, she took care of business. She was scoring strong baskets and if anyone tried to double her, she would pass it out to an open teammate for a look outside of the perimeter. Overall, every chance that Thomas had, she took advantage of and that's all you can ask for. I'm excited to see how she builds off of this going into her sophomore season of high school ball at Omaha South.
