Like I have mentioned in other articles, this time of the year is a hot time to see college offers and commitments because of the end of AAU season winding down and everyone getting back into their current season in which they have to worry about at the college level. In this day and age, any offer is big time. We are currently in the hardest time of recruitment when it comes to players going from high school to college ball because of the current transfer portal and Covid year situations. So to receive an offer, the player needs to know that they really deserve it. Below are some individuals that have recently received some offers/have committed to play collegiate ball throughout the state of Iowa and Nebraska.

[player_tooltip player_id='314134' first='Izzy' last='Weldon'] is an athlete who we will be highlighting next week when the 2024 Player Rankings Update is released but it's important to note about her commitment now. Weldon is a guard that I haven't seen much of but from everything I've heard, she is prepped for a big Senior season at Fremont Mills High school. Weldon competed with [program_tooltip program_id='712709' first='Nebraska' last='Attack'] UAA this past spring/summer season for AAU ball and killed it, springing her recruitment and ultimately getting her committed to Simpson College here in Iowa. Keep an eye out next week for Weldon's play-style breakdown as we release our last Class rankings update until December again.

[player_tooltip player_id='792035' first='Aliyah' last='Al-Hameed'] - 2024 - CG - Waukee NW High School (IA) - Uncommitted

[player_tooltip player_id='792035' first='Aliyah' last='Al-Hameed'] may not be committed to play at the collegiate level just yet but she does have some offers and that list could grow moving into this season this winter. I think that she may commit early on in the year to relieve the stress of committing late but you also can't hate on a player for trying to get as many offers as they can, before they make their final decision. I'm expecting Al-Hameed to be a standout this winter for Waukee Northwest High School but only time will tell. She has the ability and dedication, now all she has to do is go out and make it happen.

Natasha Wilson - 2024 - CG/SF - Omaha Central High School (NE) - Uncommitted

An individual with a good amount of offers these past few months from the Omaha area is Natasha Wilson of Omaha Central. Wilson is grabbing scholarship offers left and right from all across Nebraska and Iowa. There are several schools that are in the hunt for Wilson's talents and I can see why. Wilson has size, speed, and skill. The three S's you need to be a good player at any level. No matter where she ends up, I have a feeling that Wilson is going to produce. She is too smart of a player not to in my opinion.

[player_tooltip player_id='777566' first='Kiara' last='Baptiste'] - 2024 - CG/SF - Omaha Central High School (NE) - Uncommitted

[player_tooltip player_id='777566' first='Kiara' last='Baptiste'] put together a nice AAU season with her Nebraska Hoops [program_tooltip program_id='713325' first='Elite' last=''] team and that helped bring on some more eyes/offers from the next level. In a program that is stacked with talent out of the Omaha area, sometimes it can be tough to standout. Well Baptiste has done a good job of that and made a name for herself over the past few months. This winter at Omaha Central High School, this roster is going to have several college level player. If they can put things together early on in the season and their big players step up in those important moments, they are sure to make a lasting impact once the Playoff's come around.

[player_tooltip player_id='336039' first='Armanii' last='Brazile'] - 2025 - SF - Millard North High School (NE) - Uncommitted

Someone that I will be highlighting this winter a few more times is [player_tooltip player_id='336039' first='Armanii' last='Brazile'] of Millard North High School. Brazile is a player out of the 2025 Class with a superior mixture of size and speed compared to most on the floor around her. There isn't a time that I have seen Brazile be out-matched in a 1V1 situation, while always making the most out of her opportunities. By the end of her high school career, I'm going to assume that Brazile will have 10-15 collegiate offers to play at the next level. Where will she end up? Only time will tell but as for right now, she is in a great place moving forward.
