The Republican Plains Athletic Conference tournament will head to their division championship games (semifinals) on Thursday night. The tournament featured six ranked teams from three classes in the quarterfinals on Monday.

Thursday's semifinals feature Class D-2, No. 1 Dundy County-Stratton (16-0) against Class D-1, No. 2 Maywood-Hayes Center (16-1) in the West Division final. In the East Division final, Class C-2, No. 4 Alma (17-1) will face Class D-1, No. 8 Arapahoe (15-2).

Here is a player to watch from each team. We may see all four in Lincoln for the state tournament as well.

In Class D basketball, sometimes you have to do a little bit of everything, and Stengel certainly fits this bill. The 5-8 senior is second for the Wolves in scoring at 15.6 points per contest. She leads the team in rebounds (5.2), assists (6.1) and steals (5.3) and is also their leading free throw and 3-point shooter as well.

Spargo is a dynamite athlete and one of the top players in Class D-2. She's college athlete no matter what she decides, but it is likely headed toward track and field like senior sister Clara who is off to Northern Arizona. Abi is averaging 16.9 points and 9.4 rebounds for the Tigers as well as 5.3 steals per contest. Her all around game is built for the small college level if she wanted to go that route.

You know all about Alma freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1221233' first='Kinley' last='Ford'] and you should. But, Ford did not play in last night's 68-29 win over Southwest and Scott went off for 27 points on 12-for-16 shooting while adding five rebounds and four assists. Scott would be a GPAC steal for many coaches. The junior has season averages of 15.3 points, 3.9 steals and 3.1 assists per game.

The Warrior sophomore teams with twin sister, Suttyn, to form a dynamic back court for coach Preston Blackmore. In their 58-37 win over Cambridge on Monday, Sawyer scores 25 points and made five triples while also securing six of the Warriors 16 team steals. This season she carries averages of 15.2 points, 3.9 steals and 2.2 assists per game.

The Republican Plains Athletic Conference tournament will head to their division championship games (semifinals) on Thursday night. The tournament featured six ranked teams from three classes in the quarterfinals on Monday.
