SubscribeAs I said before in part one, the Heart of America League must be doing something right. The league has taken down the class 2A state title three years running. Berean Academy shipped it in 2023. Sterling went back-to-back, winning in 2022 and 2021. The question now is what teams are poised to continue the run? And, with the league’s expansion to twelve teams, how do Classical School of Wichita (2A) and Central Christian Academy of Wichita (1A D I) figure in the league mix. A dozen all-league players return. The many players listed below are poised to fill the empty spots on all-HOA and all-state teams due to graduation. Schools are listed in alphabetical order. Five schools were covered in part one. This part two of two is composed includes the final seven schools.
Central Christian Academy
Laila Hernandez, 2026 – Hernandez returns from a freshman campaign the resulted in her leading the team in points scored (162), rebounds (169), and assists (67). She also racked up 38 steals.
Ashlynn Jones, 2025 – Jones returns from a sophomore campaign where she led the team in steals (65) and was second in assists (66). She also second in points scored (158) and pulled down 65 rebounds.
Avery Luckner, 2025 – Finishing last season third on the team in points score (143) Luckner also gathered 34 assists and 34 steals.
Corinne Roush, 2025 – Roush finished her sophomore season second in rebounds (127) and scored 139 points,
Marion
Grace Hett, 5’5″, SG, 2024 – The second team all-league and Varsity Kansas 2A honorable mention selection shot 38% with 49 made. She also shot 83% from the line while averaging 14.9 points per game. She has a hair trigger with no wasted movement. Hett is a Wichita State University volleyball commit.
Erin Regnier, PG, 2025 – Regnier averaged 3.8 points and 3.3 rebounds but led the team in assists with 2.8 per game. She also gathered 1.7 steals. Can shoot the three ball with range and handle in transition with speed.
Kenna Wesner, 5’8″, SF, 2025 – Wesner averaged 4.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.1 assists. Wesner is a key defensive presence.
Moundridge
Caroline Bisterfeldt Caroline Bisterfeldt 5'5" | SG Moundridge | 2025 State KS , 5’3″, SG, 2025 – After enduring two knee surgeries Bisterfeldt returned to the courts late this summer to play club ball. Immediately showed her ability to light up the nets from the perimeter. Has a light touch and a quick release.
Addysen Patrick Addysen Patrick 5'6" | CG Moundridge | 2026 State KS , 5’5″, CG, 2026 – The returning second team all-league and Varsity Kansas 2A honorable mention selection is a consistent perimeter threat who handles the ball well. She shoots the ball well from mid-range jumpers off the bounce and is fast in transition.
Cammi Unruh Cammi Unruh 5'8" | CG Moundridge | 2026 State KS , 5’5″, SG, 2026 – Unruh is a strong, all-around athlete. She has strong handles, a good first step; and consistent finishing ability. A returning league honorable mention selection she has jump shooting ability and a very strong crossover move.
Remington
Bri Hochshetler, 5’8″, CG, 2024 – Hochstetler has a diversified, mature skill set to go with a solid build and motor. Shoots the perimeter ball well and scores off reverse pivots. Controls the ball and makes catchable passes well.
Emily O’Brien Emily O’Brien 5'9" | PF Remington | 2026 State KS , 5’9″, PF, 2026 – O’Brien is a returning all-league second team and Varsity Kansas 2A honorable mention selection. She has good size with very long arms. Having played point guard in the past she is proficient playing and defending nearly all positions. She shoots the ball well in flow.
Aja Spencer Aja Spencer 5'11" | CG Remington | 2024 State KS , 5’11”, SF, 2024 – Spencer’s game has matured dramatically over the summer. She has good length, athleticism, and quickness and her assertiveness has improved on both ends of the floor.
Sedgwick
Logan Budde, SF, 2025 – Budde is an important interior defender who has good transition speed. On the wing she can shoot the three ball with range.
Gaby Peterson, SG, 2025 – An active defender with quick hands Peterson will take the ball to the house and score at speed against challengers. She also is a perimeter threat.
Logan Stucky Logan Stucky 5'3" | PG Sedgwick | 2024 State KS , 5’4″, PG, 2024 – Stucky is a returning first team all-league and Varsity Kansas 2A honorable mention selection. Very quick with ball speed to beat defenders down the floor she also handles well in transition. Scores well around the basket with athleticism. A very solid perimeter shooter with a quick release.
Sterling
Katie Conard Katie Conard 5'7" | CG Sterling | 2025 State KS , 5’7″, CG, 2025 – Conard is a solid two way player who can block shots without fouling and use the glass well when scoring.
Chloe Garrett Chloe Garrett 5'11" | PF Sterling | 2026 State KS , 5’10”, PF, 2025 – With good size and length Garrett is a consistent, interior scoring threat.
Avery Linden Avery Linden 5'4" | SG Sterling | 2024 State KS , 5’4″, PG/SG, 2024 – Not only is Linden a solid ball handler but is also a floor leader. She handles well under full-court pressure, has good transition speed with the ball, hustles after loose balls, and finishes with either hand at speed.
Trinity Catholic
Mackenzie Alvarez Mackenzie Alvarez 5'6" | PG Hutchinson Trinity | 2024 State KS , 5’6″, PG, SG, 2024 – The returning all-league honorable mention selection looks to get to the basket with her good first step. With athleticism and strength she absorbs contact to finish. Alvarez has perimeter scoring ability as well.
Addison Crockett Addison Crockett 5'6" | PG Hutchinson Trinity | 2025 State KS , 5’6″, PG, 2025 – Crockett has quick hands to get steals defending one-on-one. She scores well off the drive and from three point range. Crocket has finishing ability in transition with either hand at speed. She has a solid build, hustles in transition with speed, and jumps to the ball well rebounding.
