A power forward with size and ball skills at the position is my top power forward. Fast, long, disruptive and a solid three level scorer O’Brien is a returning SIK first team and third team KBCA and KSHSAACovered pick. She has a versatile and mature game that she is committed to take to Northeastern State University (OK) upon graduation.

An extremely versatile forward that played on top of the full court press causing tons of trouble with the length and ability to move lateral. Quick hands that got on the ball for a deflection or steal. Great finisher off the steal in the front court and used the length to shoot over the guard that had just turned the ball over. Offensively she has a tough mid-range shott to go along with the outside 3-point shot as well.

Defensively she controlled the paint by blocking the shot or at least adjusting it. Good rebounder that reads the ball coming off the rim. The ball handling skills possess requires no outlet as she can start the break herself. She also was a good option on the pressure as she could pass over the front line of the press. The 2026 Forward has already committed to Northeastern State University in Oklahoma.

Long and versatile, she can handle the ball on the perimeter or post up and seal inside to create space for easy finishes off lob passes. She absorbs contact well at the rim, knocks down spot up threes with confidence, and uses her length to disrupt both shots and passing lanes on the defensive end.

Double digit scorer throughout the event. Can get buckets in a variety of ways. Her tournament high came on Saturday with 19 points, including three triples. Has a clear post background with her ability to get position down low, and battle through contact. But is developing a perimeter game, capable of attacking off the dribble. Perhaps most importantly, she seems to be a connector with her ability to pass. Either out of the high post or even when attacking. O’Brien has offensive production and a plus wing span for defense impact, usually a strong combination that’s appealing to college coaches.

Like her stature, O’Brien’s game continuously grown over a high school and club career I have observed on countless sidelines. A former guard who moved into forward spots over time she has been long under-appreciated despite picking up Heart of America first team and 2A KSHSAACovered and Sports In Kansas honorable mention honors. Long, fast, athletic and quick enough to continue to play the top of full court ball pressure O’Brien and the Broncos may finally have the horses to avoid another sub-state final loss to get to the state tournament.
