There are other times, however where the jump just flows naturally and the Freshman pick right up from their last year in middle school. In this article, we look at Freshman who had a productive first and second week and appear to be making a smooth transition from 8th to 9th grade.
Talia Busser Talia Busser 5'4" | PG Cardinal Mooney | 2026 State FL stepped into Bolles high school and a senior basketball player pointed Busser out and said she was a nice Freshman guard who stood out at the ENG Power showcase. Busser left more than an impression with all those threes she was hitting in Daytona. Busser also looked good at the Inside Exposure Thanksgiving Classic and was shooting the three, handling the ball, and handling the pressure on the floor. She recently posted a 12 point performance and her team’s last game.

is another Freshman making the transition from middle school to high school and performing very well on the high school stage. McCreary is averaging 6.3 points per game and had a 12 point performance this past week. She has a versatile game with the ability to score on the inside and outside.
Audrey Rollins Audrey Rollins 5'4" | SG Nease | 2027 State FL is a nice Freshman player who can really shoot the ball. A few weeks ago in preseason she was shooting it all over the court and continued to do so in her first two weeks of high school ball. Rollins is an impressive Freshman who plays like she is battle tested. She is not afraid of the moment and definitely not afraid to take the big shot. Through three games Rollins is averaging 8.7 points per game and has knocked down 6 threes in the first 2 weeks.
Erynn Moffett Erynn Moffett 5'9" | PF Palm Bay | 2027 State FL played well at the Inside Exposure tournament and has carried the good play into the second week of high school ball. Moffett’s aggressive play was impressive and so was her basketball IQ. The most telling thing about Moffett was the trust her coach has in her. She had the ball on her hand at crucial moments in the contest (in-bound plays and setting up the offense).
Kathleen Crawley Kathleen Crawley 5'9" | SF Bishop Kenny | 2027 State FL has played well this season and has already knocked down 5 threes in 3 games. Crawley is averaging 7 points per contest.
