Fall leagues, showcases, and individual camps bridged the gap, but winter basketball is what everyone is eager to watch. Who are the prospects to keep an eye on in the Oakland Activities Association Blue Division? Let’s find out!
2025 SG Bri Young Bri Young 5’11” | PF Bloomfield Hills | 2025 State MI of Bloomfield Hills greatly impressed during fall league at the Compound. She has a rare combination of strength, explosiveness, and aggressiveness that makes her difficult to defend. Bri applies phenomenal ball pressure and has the getaway speed to convert turnovers into points. She effectively penetrates the paint and finishes strong at the rim. Bri will be an outstanding prospect to watch for the Hawks this winter.
2025 CG Demi Bolton Demi Bolton 5’6″ | CG Ferndale | 2025 State MI will be a phenomenal performer for Ferndale this season. She put her athleticism on full display at the PGH Top 250 Expo, performing as one of the top defenders. Demi utilizes spin dribbles, crossovers, pro hops, and more to drive past defenders. She finishes with both hands around the rim maintaining exceptional balance and control. Demi scores at all three levels and will be an exciting prospect to watch this winter.
2025 Nevaeh Wood Nevaeh Wood 5’9″ | SF Lake Orion | 2025 State MI is a powerful stretch forward who will be an outstanding addition to the Avondale Lady Jackets this winter. She dealt with unfortunate injuries last season that cut her year short and will be looking to show everyone how dominant she can be. Nevaeh pursues rebounds with a relentless effort that frequently adds up to double doubles. She is a strong and downhill player who will get the rim and finish with precision. Nevaeh is a prospect I am very excited to see back on the hardwood this winter.
2024 PG Michele Barnett Michele Barnett PG Bloomfield Hills | 2025 State MI was voted all conference as a junior for Bloomfield Hills. She knocks down outside jumpers off the catch and the dribble, while working with a relentless motor on defense. Michele applies pressure on the ball, using her lateral quickness and hands to force turnovers. She sees the court well and creates space off the dribble to create shots for herself and others. Michele is a senior who will make plays on both ends for the Hawks this winter.
