SubscribeThere is so much girls basketball talent in the state of Michigan that the ranking numbers sometimes don’t tell the full story. There are a lot of very high level players and next level prospects all the way through the rankings. That being said, we’re going to give you 5 players ranked after 100 that college coaches, scouts and fans of the game need to watch.
Wurster was impressive at the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Top 250 and looks more than ready to have an excellent high school season. She even impressed on a national scale with the Harbor Impact on the PGH Circuit. Wurster is a quick guard that can handle like a lead guard as well as attack the rim at a high level off the wing. She’s one of the better rebounding guards that I’ve seen in the class of 2025. Wurster isn’t at all hesitant to put a body on a post player.
DeSmit was one of the more impressive stock-risers in the rankings update. She’s always been a very talented point guard with a ton of upside. All word is that she’s hit a button and that upside has become bona fide game. DeSmit is a point guard to the definition, as she’s a high level ball handler, an excellent passer that sees the movement on the floor and she can control the feel of the game.
McKinney sort of low key had a tremendous grassroots season with MBA UAA . She could really see her stock soar with the type of season that I think she could be lined up to have. McKinney has a very high defensive IQ. She never gets caught out of position on that end and certainly showed the ability to move laterally, even against high level competition. McKinney could turn out to be an elite defender this high school season.
Eritano kept getting better and better throughout the high school season in 2022-2023. That growth in her game continued through grassroots basketball as well. Eritano developed into a reliable, and even electric, multi level scorer. Last season she averaged in the upper teens when it came to points per game. Well, like we said, she’s even better now. Eritano could push for 20 ppg this time around. Screenshot it if you’d like.
Highlights
Smith is definitely a player to watch this season. She’s been under the radar a bit, but if if you’ve played against her, you know the difference she can make in a game. Smith will be a double-double threat every night out. She’s strong physically and will put a body on a body in order to get a rebound. Smith gets pretty good looks at the rim off put backs and by establishing position early.
