The 2028 class is loaded with talent in TN all across the state. As the kids all starting their middle school seasons, let’s take a look at the best 8th graders in the state.

Addie Lawson

CLASS 2028

Addie Lawson

School: Rogersville MS
Club: TFT Trotters

Lawson is a high IQ guard that knows all the little tricks already.  She knows when to hit the gas and when to pump the breaks.  She has a nice change of speeds, and a sneaky quick first step that makes her hard to stay in front of.  Nice playmaker when she gets into the paint.  Can score with either hand, off one or two feet, or makes the right kickout pass to a shooter. Lawson plays like a HS kid already.  Really nice shot maker and all-around guard that contributes to winning across the board.

Lily Wright

CLASS 2028

Lily Wright

Club: ETA Thunder

Wright is a special talent, and I think will end up being a top 3 kid in her class.  Super long and athletic.  Great skill level, and only works harder the more successful she is.  Truly a position-less player that can play anywhere you put her.  Two-way stud.  She’s going to start picking up D1 offers soon as the interest is there after starring on the FBC Reign ’27 team last summer.

State: Tennessee
School: The Webb School
Club: FBC

Bacon has all the tools to a Power 5 forward (she’s already got an offer from Ole Miss!).  She long and athletic, with explosive athleticism.  Defensively, she can walk into a HS gym right now and lock most kids down.  She can be a game changer defensively.  Offensively, she needs polish and needs to extend her range, but, great desire to succeed.  So tough out in transition sprinting the floor.  Tough to keep off the glass.  Has the chance to be really special.

Highlights

Josie Ladd

CLASS 2028

Josie Ladd

School: Mills Creek MS

Length..  Length.. Length.. Josie Ladd is a long athletic wing who can contribute at multiple positions.  Really tough when she gets loose out in the open floor with the basketball. Solid stroke from 3. Uses her length to finish around the basket and affect others on defense. Josie will look to lead Mill Creek MS this fall.  Because of her physical tools, another that has a real chance to be special.

Madison Stanley

CLASS 20028

Madison Stanley

School: Central Magnet

Stanley is a strong player with fantastic foot work. She uses this combination to get to the paint and fill up the stat sheet. She has HS ready strength right now.  Stanley rebounds extremely well and defends multiple positions. She needs some more polish offensively, but has the pieces the be a real scorer down there.  This lefty looks to be a major contributor to Central Magnet HS.
