Story has as much potential as anyone on this list. She averaged 11.1 pts per game last year on 51% shooting. I love to see my forwards scoring around 50%. Story is a “late bloomer” who’s skill is just now catching up with her supreme athleticism. While her 3 pt shot and FT shot still need work, Story is primed for a breakout as once she catches in the paint, she’s a bucket. It’s no accident Story has BLOWN UP this season.
Jarrett is a really interesting player as she averaged 12 pts on 46% from the field. She’s capable of more though as she also popped out and hit 30 3’s at a 43% clip. 30 3’s for a big is a phenomenal number. Her 78% from the line also indicates that she has what it takes to be a perimeter shooter.
Hayes put up 12.2 pts last year, but did so on 34% shooting. She’d obviously like that number to go up a bit, and that will open up the drive for her. She’s a proven shooter with 48 made 3’s last season but only on 28%. She hit 80 FT from 80% which leads to me to believe she can really stroke it. When the free throw percentage is high, it leads me to believe the foundation of a clean shot is there. Hayes has had a tremendous season scoring the ball.
Webb averaged 11.8 on 38% from the field last season. You have to love that she hit 60 3’s, and only from 30%, which I believe will go up to 35 percent this year. Webb has a ton of room for growth as a scorer.
Price averaged 11.5 points on 42% from the field last season. She only hit 11 3s, and only shot 56% from the line. In order to make a scoring jump, she’s going to have to finish from 2 better, and begin to get more touch on her jumper. And so far this season, she’s made a lot of these changes and has become a much more consistent scorer.
