Wierenga was really good in the paint against Northview. She came just 2 rebounds shy of a points and rebounds double-double in the game, finishing with 14 and 8. In addition to scoring and being active on the glass, Wierenga did a nice job of protecting the rim and picked up a couple blocks.
Gleason came out of the gates strong. She was just shy of the double-double finishing with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Gleason is another example of a post player that contributes in a variety of ways. She altered and blocked shots last night by the handful, finishing the game with 5.
Highlights
I just wrote about Klein yesterday, but when you deserve publicity, you get it. She’s an exciting freshman post prospect that looks like she’ll have an immediate impact for Flat Rock.
Gustafson and her Saugatuck squad are going to be a force to be dealt with this season. Her and new addition Brook Simpson Brook Simpson 5’10” | SG Saugatuck | 2024 State MI are going to be a tough duo to deal with. Gustafson scored 43 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in last nights win. She showed off a versatile offensive game that saw her score from all 3 levels and from all over the floor.
Highlights
Bottum is coming off a head turning summer and looks like she’ll keep the pace. Double-doubles are fun, but they become kind of miraculous when they come in the form of rebounds and blocks. That’s what Bottum did, finishing the game with 15 rebounds and 9 blocks. That’s a HIGHLY influential post player. Really, how many shots are there in a game? To have 9 of those simply sent back by 1 player is a tough stat to work around.
