While that is still the case, I have put together a list of a handful of competitors that will be considered for our Miss Iowa Basketball POTY. Each player is someone that is monumental in the success of their perspective team, while also being absolutely dominate in most facets of the game across the board.
Please note: This award, depending on who is giving it, usually only accounts for players competing during their Senior seasons. That will NOT be the case in this situation. Any player, from any grade level is fair game and has a chance to win.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

An individual that took the state of Iowa by storm last season and is looking to build on that momentum this winter, is Macy Comito of Carlisle High School. Comito is a fast-twitch, quick thinking point guard. She displays a smooth handle and effortless movement coming down the floor and is versatile in a number of different facets of the game. Offensively, if she isn’t scoring the ball at a high rate from all three levels, she is getting her teammates involved and creating for them in some sort of way. Defensively, she has quick hands and moves well laterally going either direction. While at the same time she is doing all this, she is also controlling the pace of play that is happening throughout the contest. As a freshman, Comito put up eye-opening numbers. She averaged just over 13 PPG & 5 RPG. Pretty good for a freshman, starting varsity for her first time. Looking toward the future, Comito already has a handful of Power-5 collegiate offers to play at the next level and that list is only going to grow as time goes on. If you watch her compete for a few minutes, you can tell that she really is a smooth operator who is going to continue to produce, not just this winter, but for the next few years to come at the high school level.
