Some of them you may know, others you may not have seen yet, while others have excelled in another sport so you may have heard of them also.
While Sycamore is finding their identity with some new faces, one sophomore is a player who caught my eye quickly in the opening game of the day. Brooke showed an ability to always be around the ball and plays with a high motor. She is able to create contact on penetration to the rim and can finish. She playsn under control and has good footwork in the paint. Can create her shot.
One of the key players for Gahanna Lincoln is Kya who is a prolific defender who did a great job switching on her player and is able to put pressure on the ball. She also has a good midrange pull-up on offense, and if you don’t guard her, she will hurt you. Solid athletic player ready for a big senior season. (feature photo above)
Highlights
Haedyn is a sophomore who you should hear about this season. She showed a good skillset with a really good pull-up jumper and elevates well when releasing the ball. She has good range and is not afraid to let it fly. She does get her shot off quickly and does a nice job scoring off the pass.

On a team filled with so many talented upperclassmen, don’t forget about this young lady! She provides a good spark with her solid consistent play. She does things quietly but she is fundamental and gets things done. She is a strong physical kid who can score at the rim and play through contact.
Carroll is deep and talented, and Maura was one of the most poised kids I saw on this day. She has great moves with the ball and can put it on the floor and get to the rim. She made some big plays for her team, helping bring Carroll back from a big early deficit. Able to get open and score.

Reese is an active post player who showed an ability to move around well in the paint and uses her length and wingspan well to defend around the rim. She has a soft touch and scores well at the rim. Magnificat is a very talented team and she provides a good spark for them when she is on the floor.

You may have seen her name this fall, helping lead Kings to the state volleyball title, and she will attend Appalachian State for volleyball. But on the basketball court, she is a force in the paint with a strong physical frame. She won’t be pushed around in the paint and controls the boards. Smart player who handles her business on the defensive end.
