For over 3 years now, we’ve spoke about her well rounded skill set. Well, here we are again. Billups does so much so well on the basketball court and was in prime form in a win against Troy early in the season. She can create and score off the bounce with terrific body control on her finishes. Billups can also create by drawing the defense and finding the open teammate.
Dillard and her game have been on an upward trend for quite a while now. In a recent Kalamazoo Central win, she finished with 33 points, 7 rebounds and 7 steals. And that was in just 3 quarters of basketball. The GVSU commit has people in Allendale excited for sure. The offensive numbers are pretty, but the best part about it is that she was equally as good on the defensive end. You could easily say that Dillard is one of the best 2 way players in the state.

Honestly, Baker probably didn’t get the coverage that she deserved for her play this summer. She was getting buckets at a very high rate and percentage against some high quality competition. Baker is a name that shouldn’t be looked over when it comes to Miss Basketball talk. She had a Miss Basketball type of game in an overtime win against Caledonia last night. Baker scorched the nets scoring 37 if her team’s 51 points.

I was really impressed with Fuhs at the PGH Michigan Freshman Showcase and her great play from that event appears to be a regular thing. Strange to have a freshman on this list of superstar performances? Maybe. But all signs point to a true star in the making right now. She recently scored 18 points in a hard fought win. Her jumper from both the corcer and the wing is so pure and she gets it done on the defensive end as well.

Belleville looked VERY good in a win against Romulus and Carter was a huge part of the team success. The athletic guard can go out and get buckets. She can score from all 3 levels, looking just as comfortable finding space and sniping from 3 point range as she does attacking the rim off the bounce and in transition. All aspects of her offensive game were on display in her 21 point performance.
How good did Belleville look? Good enough to have 2 players on this list. And yes, another freshman. Pretty good class of 2027, right? Well Savoury quite simply is one of the best freshman in the country. She was a mismatch in every way, scoring 24 points in the win against Romulus. I could talk all day about her physical skills, but let’s not forget, her basketball IQ and feel for the action is just as impressive.
Her team fell just short in a great game against Kenowa Hills, but Geers certainly looked like the star that she is. She finished the game with a 26 point and 15 rebound double-double. Geers has always been the type of player that excels at delivering whatever her team needs. Whether it’s scoring, rebounds, or defensive stops…..Geers can and will get the job done.
DeSmit is looking like one of the most improved players on the west side of the state early in the season. Her comfort with her game has taken off by leaps and bounds. DeSmit is an expert at controlling the pace and keeping mental mistakes to a minimum. She looks so dynamic offensively early in the season.
Cole looks like she could be a star that’s rising this season. The senior had an excellent game against Lakeville. Let’s call it a superstar type of performance. She was sort of on the cusp of a triple-double with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. This is a talented team and with Cole playing like this, they’ll be an incredibly tough beat.
