Next Level Play
Good size but her strength and athletic ability was on display tonight as she was all over the glass and she was able to use both hands in traffic. Eventually it came down to her lefty floater on the move off the glass that won the game but there were so many more plays she made in the game including some tough rebounds and good all-around defense. Solid play and a new name for us.
Sophie had that look in her eyes as she was able to keep Brighton either close or get them the lead several times as she was calling for the ball late in the game and she was fierce in the post with her back to the basket. Then she would step outside and hit from the perimeter. Solid display today by the high level playing guard.
She played well, shooting but most importantly handling the ball and passing it untill she took a knee to her leg and was not able to play past the 3rd quarter. She is a next level PG with a solid handle.
Under the Radar Talent
Her motor and toughness on defense was really impressive. You could tell she was a tough soccer player the way she could stay in-front of people. She was rebounding and she was active all over the floor.
Shooters
Workman had some moments where it looked like she was going to take over the game the way she was handling the ball and shooting it from deep. She was walking into shots, she was handling the ball and she was catching and shooting the ball well.
This is a player that could really expand her game at the next level. She has great positional size and she has some big time range. Her grab and go ability to start the break is impressive and she is ready to catch and shoot coming off of sets.
Drivers
Poulton gave us a little bit of everything tonight as she shot well from deep but she has a lanky frame and just knwos how to carve through the defense. She used those Euro -Step moves very well. Impressive driving skills for her size.
Post Presence
Grace was solid on both ends of the floor and she is a real presence inside. She can defend multiple positions and rebounds well. When she learns to keep that ball high at all times she will finish more in traffic.
O’Neal had moments when she was a force with her back to the basket. She was handling the ball a bit and testing her range. She had some solid wall-ups and blocks. If she stays out of foul trouble she can continue to play a lot and be impactful.
