As the season is reaching the mid-way mark, I will be continue to look into the top performances of the games throughout the season and giving players who stood out on the court! Here's a couple from the last weeks of action.

[player_tooltip player_id='362369' first='Maddy' last='Weaver'] - 2024 - Puyallup HS

Maddy is a dominant player down low in the paint. She is patient when she has the ball and has an amazing touch on the ball when finishing down low. Her size helps her out body opposing players when attacking the boards or finishing around the bucket. She was extremely dominant and involved in a game against Rogers, scoring 27 points, gathering 23 boards and having 3 blocks on the night.

[player_tooltip player_id='676260' first='Kawehi' last='Borden'] - 2027 - Sumner HS

Kawehi is just a freshman but she is extremely talented for her age. She is tall and has great length, standing around 5'11” and could still be growing. She has a great first step, being quick with her right hand and blowing by defenders often. Borden is able to finish through traffic smoothly too and can use either hand a high level. In a game against Peninsula, she scored 17 points and pulled down 12 rebounds on the night.

Evin Elias - 2024 - Bonney Lake HS

Evin is a senior and plays a lot of minutes for this Bonney Lake team that is filled with talent. She plays alongside some of the top players in the state including [player_tooltip player_id='290580' first='Jazmyn' last='Shipp'], [player_tooltip player_id='649393' first='Ava' last='Rice'], and [player_tooltip player_id='688515' first='Azariah' last='Jackson']. Elias has an elite deep shot, one of the best in the entire 2024 class. Her games goes under the radar due to her elite teammates, but against Emerald Ridge, Evin scored 20 points, including 6 three pointers on the night.

[player_tooltip player_id='688515' first='Azariah' last='Jackson'] - 2027 - Bonney Lake HS

Speaking of Jackson, she also had a stellar performance against a tough Emerald Ridge squad. She is a lengthy point guard who will have mismatches each night due to her height for the position. She moves very well and is starting to find a rhythm at the varsity level, given she's just a freshman. Against Emerald Ridge, she scored 20 points on the night for Bonney Lake.

[player_tooltip player_id='464997' first='Aniya' last='Hooker'] - 2024 - Lynnwood HS

Aniya recently hit the 1,000 points scored mark, which is a big deal in my eyes. She has consistently been getting buckets at a high level for years now and all the extra work put in is starting to show for a reason. Hooker is a top player in the entire 2024 class and she's playing like it this season. In a game against Thomas Jefferson earlier this year, she scored 19 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists, and a whopping 15 steals. She is a reliable player who can play at an elite level on both sides of the ball.
