Claudia Jenny
I mean, the way that Claudia Jenny has shot the ball has been impressive. From watching a few Edgerton games on stream, she exudes confidence whenever she takes a perimeter, to the point I believe every shot she takes will fall through the basket. Anytime a defender goes under a ball screen when Jenny has the ball, concedes a wide-open shot from the three-point line, and once she finds a groove, it won’t be easy to get her out of it.
Kendall Schmitz Kendall Schmitz 5'4" | PG Manitowoc Lincoln | 2027 WI
I love the effort Schmitz plays with. She has the same level of engagement whether her shots fall or not, which isn’t the norm. I’m sure she believes she should be shooting better right now because she seems like a perfectionist. However, I’m unbothered if shots fall or not for first-year kids because everything is new, and kids like Schmitz will improve with more experience at the varsity level. I care that she’s playing hard, flying around the floor on defense, and making plays that lead to extra possessions for her team. Once shots start falling, she’ll be one of the most irritating players from other FRCC players to play against.
Ava Fernholz Ava Fernholz 5'6" | PG La Crosse Aquinas | 2027 WI
The last Donarski went off to Montana this fall, so there was a spot open in the Aquinas backcourt with plenty of usage for people to earn, and Fernholz made a case for herself early. Fernholz has shown that she can get to the basket, create for others, and use her length to affect the game on both ends of the floor. She’s been a productive piece for them as they re-tool to help themselves rise towards the top of D3 this season. She’s much better than I expected her to be this season.
Ava Spratt Ava Spratt 5'7" | SG Waukesha West | 2027 WI
The 23-24 season has had some ups and downs for Waukesha West due to some injuries, but Spratt’s been an effective off-ball guard for the Wolverines. She’s been a kid her coaches could rely on to hit open shots from the perimeter, and she’s been a welcomed addition to a team that lost four starters from last year’s group. As she matures and gets stronger her shot will improve, she’ll be able to play in the paint more, and her overall level will rise. Spratt has an excellent skillset, has shown plenty of potential this season, and could grow into a prominent performer in the Classic Eight.
