Most parts of the state is covered in snow right now, but I almost guarantee that the athletes mentioned below are finding ways to improve their game. She is a great rebounder that will give an all out effort to crash the boards. She defends at a high level and definitely causes turnovers. Botts has good court vision with a great feel for the game! She is a good on ball defender that will pick your pocket or draw a turnover. Workman has one of the best crossover moves that you will see too. Ava checks off most of the boxes already and she is only a freshman! Greenbrier East has a great one that will be fun to cover over the next few years. Ashanti does not play like your average freshman on the varsity level. She is athletic and physically gifted! Remember, the great Bill Russell once said, u0022The idea is not to block every shot. The idea is to make your opponent believe that you might block every shot.u0022 When you watch Ashanti, you will see how many times opponents have to alter shots. Altering shots and making your opponent miss doesn't show on any stat line. Ashanti is a stat sheet filler plus more!
