Hamlett is a sharp shooting guard that helps complete the Barlett offensive assault. One of the best shooters in her class, she fits in perfectly with this group. Bartlett will always put great pressure on the paint, and they need a couple shooters on the perimeter to hit shots and loosen things up.
Hamlett hit a huge three pointer with 1:30 to play to give Bartlett a one point lead (48-47) vs Knox Catholic. The three gave her 17 points.
The junior with offers from Ole Miss and other big time schools, Rixter came out ultra aggressive in this matchup. When she’s attacking the rim, it’s really hard to stop her mixture of size, length, athleticism and skill. She’s simply a matchup nightmare for most teams as few teams have a 6’0 player that can match her athleticism and skill.
Mains scored only nine points yesterday (all from three point land), and she came out attacking the rim early in this one. Mains was getting into the paint in the first half, and really showed off a nice float game. She stayed very aggressive in the first quarter and was able to get into double digits very quickly. She scored 14 first quarter points vs Bartlett, and 18 in the first half. Finished with 23.
Highlights
Williams is a highly skilled guard that does a bit of everything for this Bartlett ballclub. Her abilities on the defensive end really spear head her team. She’s a disruptive defender and hi-level scorer.
Jones is simply a scoring machine. When she decides she wants a bucket…she’s getting a high percentage shot in the paint. She knows how to use her shoulders to create space in the mid-range. Showed a lot of versatility in her matchup with Knox Catholic. She had 16 first half points.
Krueger was tough in this matchup, and even though she was often at a size disadvantage, she was able to come up with numerous offensive rebounds and put backs. Krueger runs the floor really hard, and your post guarding her must always be aware.
Just physically really imposing. Not many high school kids that can compete with Jones using purely phsyical measures. She was tough on the glass vs Knox Catholic, and KC didn’t really have a great matchup to keep her off the glass. If Jones will continue to develop, she will end up like seemingly all Bartlett 6’0 posts–playing at the collegiate level.
Had a hard time finding rythm vs Bartlett, but even on her off nights, Flores can still get into double figures. She was able to hit couple 3s and couple layups, and a few free throws, and you don’t even notice Flores has 10 points and four assists. Had a few open looks in the fourth quarter I know she wishes she had back.
Highlights
Redd’s basketball IQ was really on display in this one. She a tremendous rebounder, and showed really nice understanding of the game with her outlet passes. She’s capable of keeping the ball and dribbling herself, or immediately passing ahead. She showed nice understand of when and where to deliver the ball.
