Below are my 6 players above 6 feet to keep an eye on !
Classic bigs are hard to come by, and if the work is being put in consistently then Alex’s potential to be dominant is there. She’s mobile, has hands like glue, and seems to show a good sense of how to establish position in the low block area. The ability to stretch 15 ft and out is present as well.
Offensively there’s not much that Linke does not have in her tool bag. She can be impactful at all levels, and has a solid string on the ball. As her isolation game starts to fill out, and her confidence in the post a starts to increase.. more college eyes will find there way to Linke’s games when AAU season starts up.
Highlights
The size Jane has at a young age is striking, and it allows her to have presence on the defensive side of the ball. Rebounding and blocking have been her keys to success on most nights. Offensively, Jane is still figuring it out, but once she gets a go to move (strong drop step, or a simple catch, turn and hook). She’ll be one the top bigs in this class. The potential is there.
A tough and physical post who adds another layer of skill due to her ability to stretch and play in the full court. Players like Megan seem to translate their skillset seamlessly because of their ability to play within any system. This kid has a huge amount of potential, and college coaches need to be keeping an eye on her.
Jones has the title of the best prospect in Illinois, regardless of class. Whether it’s the insane amount of offers, or the fact that she’s an Olympic gold medalist at 16. The athleticism is off the charts, and it’s been the main key to her dominance. The summer should allow her to develop a true 5 level scoring skillset (rim attack, mid range game, three ball, isolation, and a post presence -low block or high elbow-). Defensively, she can guard 1-5. Shes the new D1 prototype.
Kiper’s skillset has a check mark in almost every box. She’s a versatile wing that can create her own shot, knockdown the catch and shoot, and defensively her IQ matches the high intensity that she plays with. Madelyn pace is more steady than fast, but it flows well into how efficient and consistent she can be. Strong potential.
