I was able to catch the final three girls games and below you will see some of the players that stood out to me during those games. Even though I did not get to watch, I also want to say congratulations to the players of the game from game one: Bullitt East’s Anna Rodgers Anna Rodgers 5'11" | SG Bullitt East | 2024 State KY and Webster County’s Jaycie Wright.
Caroline Lucas
Caroline Lucas
Lucas scored a game-high 19 points, including scoring her 1,000th career point, as her team sailed to a 62-27 victory. The way she used her athleticism was so impressive. She can elevate over defenders to knock down jumpers and her pull-up was looking very nice as she consistently knocked them down. She was very unselfish and looked to make plays for her teammates in transition and off of drives. Defensively, came up with steals and deflections all game long.
Huffines seemed to be unstoppable when they got the ball to her down low. When she wasn’t hitting, she was getting to the free throw line. She made a lot of big plays around the basket. Excellent touch. Loved the way she recognized when she had a smaller defender on her and took advantage of those mismatches. Also very active on the boards.

Morgan Alexander
Morgan Alexander
Alexander was very active defensively and while it was impressive to start, it became more and more impressive as the game went on as her team was down big and she kept putting in the work on both ends of the court. She was constantly moving and looking to read what the offense was going to do next. Offensively, she showed an ability to knock down shots both off the dribble and catch.
The freshman definitely came to play on Saturday. The team they were facing had a lot of talented players and Jordan was a big reason the Valkyries got off to such a hot start. She was really showing her playmaking abilities as she set her teammates up for open looks all game long. She also scored some tough buckets herself, including when her team really needed it to stop Clarksville Christian’s comeback attempt in the 2nd half. In less than 18 minutes of play, Jordan scored 11 points and dished out 4 assists while committing 0 turnovers.
Pelayo also came up big when her team needed her the most. She has such great touch around the basket and her teammates did a great job of drawing help before making the pass to her down low. She’s been surrounded by stars throughout her high school career, but make no mistake, Pelayo is a star in her own right and she has been a critical piece for the Valkyries.
Highlights
There’s a reason Hassell is one of the top-ranked 2027 players in the nation. After struggling to see shots fall in the first half, she was huge in her team’s comeback attempt in the 2nd half. She knocked down a deep three and really showed her versatility, playing nearly every position at some point during the game. Between Hassell and fellow 2027, Marley Spiers, Clarksville Christian has a very bright future over the next 4 years. Spiers was also a difference maker on both ends of the court and made some big time plays as her team fought to get themselves back in the game.
Nevaeh Brooks
Nevaeh Brooks
Brooks was doing so much to help her team on Saturday. Made great moves, scored at all 3 levels, made big defensive plays, and distributed the ball well. She has strong handles and it felt like she was all over the floor. Loved the hustle plays and the toughness she showed throughout the game. Brooks showed she is a true playmaker who can score in a variety of ways.
Campbell was nailing 3’s throughout the game, but the ones late in the game were huge as they really helped her team pull away. She did a great job moving without the ball and then catching ready to fire. Campbell forced the defense to make a decision because she showed an ability to drive through gaps as well. She can knock down shots off the dribble or catch, and you have to stay up on her at every level or she’ll make you pay.

JaSiyah Franklin
JaSiyah Franklin
Franklin is a key player for the Lady Purples. While she can score some tough buckets around the basket, she really contributes in so many different ways. Defensively, she can get her hands on the ball to come up with deflections or steals. Offensively, she handles the ball well, makes good passes, and can really create separation from defenders. She drew help and made great passes to teammates.
I could really list any of Henderson County’s players here because they spread out their scoring and share the ball very well. However, I feel that all starts at the point guard position, so I have to start out by mentioning their starting PG, Adalyn Gish Adalyn Gish 5’5″ | CG Henderson County | 2026 State KY . Gish is a true floor general. She plays very unselfish and is clearly very fundamentally sound. She can handle pressure and she distributes the ball very well in her team’s offense. Gish can score herself as well, but she is always looking to make plays for her teammates. Loved the way she saw the floor and made strong passes.

Green stayed very solid throughout the game. She made great moves to get into the paint or to the rim, she cut hard, and hit some big shots. She showed good strength and she made good passes. Really wasn’t forcing much and was creating good offense. Defensively, she was very active and showed an ability to guard multiple positions.
