Klinger was outstanding in an East Lansing win against Okemos. She was solid as the primary ball handler and did a nice job initiating the offense with the pass or the dribble drive. Klinger successfully found and used angles to attack the rim and finish on either side. She was able to dribble through pressure and even scored off of it. Klinger was solid stopping and slowing the drive on the defensive end by keeping a wide base and using her strength.

Kiyak is having herself a breakout season. She was absolutely lights out in a very competitive loss to East Lansing. Kiyak looks like a stone cold shooter. She buried a 3 from the top off the bounce. Then she caught her defender sliding under a screen and made them pay with a triple. Kiyak hit 3 triples just off of inbound plays. She showed the ability to take the ball coast to coast and score with a lefty finish as well. Kiyak had a really nice scoop and score in the second half, showing that she can be a threat from all over the floor.
DeSmit has always had talent and upside, but she has a brand new comfort level on the court. I liked her ability to take charge and set and run the offense for Hudsonville. DeSmit showed a very effective patience on the offensive end that led to good looks at the rim for her and her teammates. She buried a tough to defend pull up mid range jumper from the lane and impressed with an athletic flip in for a bucket. DeSmit also demonstrated the ability to hit her teammates in stride with a pass in the open floor.
Grandville lost a very tight game to Hudsonville, but Rakosky did more than shine with her performance. I was very impressed with her ability to attack the defense off the bounce, draw defenders and then find and hit open shooters with a kick out pass. Rakosky showed a well rounded skill set with multiple ways to pressure the D. She hit a 3 pointer, was fouled off a nice crossover move and hit an athletic floater. Rakosky was solid defensively, picking up a couple of steals from deflecting passes.
James was stellar in East Lansing’s big win against Okemos. She showed an elite speed burst on the straight line dribble drive with her right hand. James put the ball on the floor and had her defender on her hip in no time. She was definitely a multi level scorer. She hit a 3 off the catch and off the bounce and a mid range baseline jumper. James is definitely a prospect to keep an eye on.
