Grandville lost a very tight game to Hudsonville, but Rakosky did more than shine with her performance. I was very impressed with her ability to attack the defense off the bounce, draw defenders and then find and hit open shooters with a kick out pass. Rakosky showed a well rounded skill set with multiple ways to pressure the D. She hit a 3 pointer, was fouled off a nice crossover move and hit an athletic floater. Rakosky was solid defensively, picking up a couple of steals from deflecting passes.

The Walsh University commit had a great junior season for Grandville. She averaged 11.8 points and 5 rebounds per game last season. The point guard will need to continue her solid play to give her team a chance to win more games this season.

The Grandville point guard did a lot of damage in passing lanes last year. She rebounds really well for a guard. She was a streaky scorer last year but needs to shoulder more of a load this year.
